trouble with building a bridge

can't seem to build a bridge,, what am i doing wrong

Near the water click and hold the mouse, then drag to where you want to stop

Also it can't be beyond a certain size, so it's only really useful for rivers.

I find it easier if you start your drag from inside the water. Don't drag from the land across to the other side, drag from just inside the water across to the other side.

i understood all that but its only sometimes,, wont allow a bridge maybe i was too close to a forge but all good for now

Some places just wont allow a bridge and as someone said you have a limit on length. I just click and drag each area until it turns green. Now if i can just get my villagers to use them instead of crossing the water next to them i'll be happy.. LOL

Oh i thought it was just my stupid villagers, i have two bridges but they seems to want a swim instead at times.

i hear that,, wish the new update of camera controls would've given the up/down pivot control though

and that the water was more clear-ish maybe a hint of blue, ya know how the factual structure of the timeline is (which is awesome) but the water would be sooooo much cleaner back then,, but i love this game so far just a few tweeks need to be personaly made but hopefully they fix the camera some more

3 hunters approach the river bank with full inventories after hunting expedition across the river from their village.

1st hunter: "Listen guys, I know we swam the river to get over here but these packs are heavy so how about we walk down to that new bridge that got built or at least over to the low water crossing so we can wade instead of swimming?"

2nd hunter: " Yea, what he said."

3rd hunter: "What bridge, I didn't vote to build no bridge, didn't help build no bridge, ain't gonna use no bridge. Bridges and low water crossings are just for girly men and manly girls. Here hold my beer while I show you how to swim this thing with a loaded pack."

1st hunter: "What, wait a minute!"

2nd hunter: " I'll hold your beer man, you're my hero!"

3rd hunter: " On second thought, gimme that beer back, I'm gonna show you how to swim this river with a full pack and drink my beer at the same time and not get a lick of river water in the beer!"....... Swims river, steps up on far bank straight into stray bear sow and 3 cubs, become afternoon snack for bears.

2nd hunter: "Oh man, he was good, I didn't see that beer go anywhere near the water surface."

1st hunter: " Ummm, let's wander down to that new bridge."

2nd hunter: " Naw man, those bears are full now, let's swim, I wanna try out that trick with the beer."

Population of village is reduced by 3 idiots!!!!

Im not having an issue with not being allowed to build a bridge, I cant seem to complete its construction. I see the bridges outline in the water, but nothing else and I cannot click on it. How do I get the villagers to complete it?

Bridges are made with logs. You can only click on a villager and have him build the bridge if he is already loading a log or if all the logs are already in place.
