Is it possible to play this game vegan?
Does anyone know if this game can be played vegan, meaning without deliberately harming animals?
I would expect this to make it more difficult but not impossible.

Yes, you could only use skins and bones from scavanging corpses, would take a really long time though.

Quite impossible I'd say, as you need hides for clothes and shelter, and berries will perish after a season or so.

If you allow yourself to trade for hides then it would probably be possible, but it would be miserably slow as the game is balanced around you hunting to get bones, meat, and skin to make various tools, clothing, and food.

Are you really this stupid? Its a game, no real world animals are hurt.
Beside, ancient people didnt have a choice to become vegan.

While this game isn't historical, it represents a time in history where veganism was not only unheard of, it was unrealistic and down right impossible. There were no supplements. Can you do it? Sure why not try! Add yourself that challenge. In the beginning of the game you will have significant trouble surviving the winter without dried meats. Currently there is no way in the game to dry berries and gathered beans and grains are rather scarce. You have to get past a significant milestone to get to farming after which you can probably play as vegan, but then you eliminate a significant portion of the game by cutting out the entire beast of burden tech tree.

You won't get enough food early on (or anything else) for trading. By the way: early humans were no vegans ;)

You can make vegetable/fruit smoothies on this game, and what I mean is you have one villager hold a bucket full of fruits/vegetables and water while two villagers are spinning him/her around.

So yes you can be a vegan on this game with this wonderful feature.

I'd say it would be a mean feat if someone could play this game vegan and last. Would be rather impressive.

Main problems i see are that the trader comes based off of your prestige. Which would tank if you couldn't make or upkeep your houses, or cloth your people.

Would be pretty hard to do from the start.

If you want to torture yourself just go play DayZ

I'm pretty sure they are looking for a challenge. Not because they are vegan or trolling or something.

tbh, early humans knew nothing of a vegan diet. We are omnivores, and always will be. Hence why we have molars and canines.
