Also Children of the Nile would need a number of trade routes and a world map in order to be a great game. While modding gives you lots of opportunities I thing creating a world map with trade and warfare is too big to be done in a mod.
I have however two titles on my wishlist "Akhenaten: Rule as Pharaoh" and "Builders of Egypt", the might be worthy successors. I hope they get released soon.
Yes, you are right, thats why I mention a predynastic mod/expansion. It would be just a Neolithic version focus on Nile dynamics. Something could be achieved on that way.
