I guess I had to provide the video eh?

Haven`t got to that part yet, and i was thinking about using just homes for walls. Is there any real reason for placing walls between homes and towers instead of just homes+gates+towers?
Select random building and random spot?
Sure send me a link and I'll take a look.
I edited my original comment and added the link.
Walls are pretty weak but they do sort of direct raiders (I leave my gates open so they go around the walls while they get shot up, instead of going right through them). Also, if you just use houses, the raiders can actually go into the houses to kill people hiding, which was unexpected, but I thought it was a super awesome feature because realism.
Plus walls just help me to orient myself and my buildings, which is just more efficient, in my opinion. Plus with towers, I literally do not lose people in raids. The trick is to upgrade to guard towers before anything else in the last tech tree, and to have a lot of towers. When I get a full-sized raid, I might lose one, maybe two towers, but no villagers.

People keep saying that they run out of hunts, but I haven't had that issue. I just reached Iron Age with about 80 animals and 102 population. I have no food problem. Are you guys exclusively focusing down the animals or taking your time teching up?
They are good becuase they are less labor intensive and also you can even out workload throughout the year as fruits/veggies are worked different seasons than grain. With granary they can last pretty long but that is not needed as they are eaten first therefore keeping your labor intensive grain as a reserve.

Thats is normally the last line I aim for.
The loss of hunting area was actually more towards the lack of animals respawning nearby the settlement which rarely occur(in fact, it catch me off guard, And I had to lasso animals from a far.)
But it did remind me its not a stable food source, domesticating as you did was preferred.
Well, looks like you figured out the work area thing - though I had no idea you could modify the size of it!!! That's going to be a huge help in the future! But yeah, literally the first thing I ever do it set up fishing and gathering spots, and I don't hunt anything more than a screen away, and I only hunt things that won't fight back in the start - the villagers are too important.
I would suggest adding a bar for sounding the alarms (see my screenshot) because you'll be using it like crazy on the third scenario.
Good job improving your fields. Since you lose a square and can't directly connect them, it's best to make them as big as possible.
You can avoid having to manually tell villagers to mine by actually placing a mine. Then you don't need a work order. If there's an actual built mine, they'll automatically go to it as needed.
Also, I'd naturally assumed, as anyone would, that you can put walls between mountains and be good. Nope! As you saw, raiders can and will go over mountains. So I just do complete, 100% connected walls, and I always keep my towers behind them - though that's probably not too important. But if you're going to build a tower, you want to build lots of towers together because they obviously go down pretty quickly.
But yeah, other than saving space by organizing your buildings, it looks like you have things pretty well figured out. I've never done a video - what do you use to record them and to add your voice to them?
One from the other side of village. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1675365731
And the village "center". https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1675366108

Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoyed it. In the video, I actually did place the mine, it's just that the poor guy died before I did and I thought it was kind of sad, but funny.
I didn't know about the bar for alarm though, that definitely helps out a lot. I didn't look at the utility bar as much as I should have, although I did add an animal bar by the end of it.
As for the walls, I'm still slowly working on that, I was disappointed when they waltz right over, but luckily I had watchtowers set up everywhere.
I find it funny that all the tutorials and hints are right in front of us, and yet we are unable to find them, until someone else points it out.
To record, I use Shadowplay, then import it to Shotcut, and use the Voice Recorder from Windows. They're all free, and suites my current needs. I don't make music, but I have played with audio programs awhile ago, but those cost money.
If you watched my first Dawn of Man video, you'll see how my mic wasn't that great, that's because I didn't have a wind screen, which I got now. But if you enjoyed that video, I plan to make more videos, and I have others already made if you want to check those out too.
