Recycling megalith stones.

I recently decided to move a monument and expected to get the giant stone back, but the stone went away. I feel that something that is that much trouble to get, should be returned when you 'recycle" it.

at first, I build monuments of a single stone ... then I recycle to make monuments of 3 stones ... and in the end I recycle again to make a monument of 6 stones ...
I've never recycled a monument of 6 stones ... it could be a bug ...

I was doing a single stone monument, it happened two times. So, it's either a bug or there is a chance of not returning materials.

Most likely every resource has a chance to be returned or not. You were unlucky. I`ve done it for about a dozen of times and i don`t think i ever lost any.
Do note however that recycling megaliths do make them simply disappear. So don`t do that.

I can't believe this isn't fixed almost a year later. Not getting the megalith back after recycling a menhir is insanely stupid.

just rebuild one megalith by simply using crapload of flint or stones into one when in bronce or iron age, stone cutting is already proper, look at Greek, Athena, Egypt building better than stone circle, Temple of Zeus, Pyramid, n big shieds stone based WW
devs just make us pissed off of this nonsense weird tech disadvantagements

Came here looking for an answer to why this just happened to me.

I recycled 3 statues and 1 menhir at about the same time. Got 2 megaliths back instead of 4.

You will randomly loose megalith when recycle megalith structure. Especially when there is not enough space around the building being recycled.
