Hunting with dogs
How do I get my settlement's dogs to help with hunting? Do they join on their own or do I need to do something? I just started a new game and I just got my first two dogs and would love to see this feature in action.

I just saw that "dog training" is an option in the tech page.

Get both dogs techs and you are good to go.

Once you had it every time you hunt a dig will accompany the hunters

But to be honest that is not very useful for me. They dogs sometimes come before hunters and frighten the prey away. Also, if I want to take manual control of hunters, dogs are still in hunt, I cannot stop them. That is annoying.

The dogs should crouch like people do, when they get close.

They're good meatshields imo, and sometimes even manage to chase down a goat.

Dogs are really very effective allies, hunting and war. You can also catch a young wolf to increase the number. And they can also serve as food ... but better to keep them.

Have a good day ! :wolf_paw:

They crouch, but sometimes they run forward while the hunters still crouch. And yes, they sometimes can catch prey, but their bites are much weaker than human weapons, so prey usually still run away. And the dog usually give up after one or two bites.

As for me, dogs are the best in keeping the water-sides safe from predators. I would like an option for hunters not to use dogs. Or even better - to have manual control of dogs.

the dogs should act differently, they should encircle an animal and make it flounce about in panic, preventing its escape. aggressive animals should attack dogs but the latter should evade their attacks with a certain probability (so the dogs wont die too fast)
