(spoiler) so there is only that one ending?
i have been rather displeaseed with the ending so i grinded up over 700 merits, every resource, part at least 2x, maxed out all weapons, hoping i can bribe my way into something else.
It, however, appears there is no better ending. (Unless i've missed something, ofc)

I blame the onboard computer for making me do all this and him sentenced too! (ala Holly in Red Dwarf)

Anyways good game.

Meh, the ending fits. It's a crazily dystopian universe. Kind of arrogant to think we'd be the only ones getting a good ending from it.

i was more thinking about sort of bous content or reward for something of a dedication.

I agree the ending is a problem.

The robot/narrator dude even SUGGESTED that the player should pick up collecting space junk as an occupation, instead we get a "YOU ALL DIE!" ending from the game instead.

There isn't even an option to free roam once you beat the game, you just go back to before the infinite "game over" scripted story screen happens.

As near as I can tell, there is no reason whatsoever to continue with story progress instead of free roaming, except to get new care packages which include Heart Starters.

There are some unanswered questions about the pirates and the companies and all that, exactly why so many ships are in the nebula and exactly how they got there. I suppose all the story is nothing more than a setting for the action, which is a shame, I feel they could have done more with it regardless of how non-sensical some of the crafting aspects are.

mayhaps they ae panning downloadable content / sequel (or prequel) to explain the pirates and such,
quite honestly there is much that can be done with the narrator / main AI from story perspective:
are all AI this evil, careless? If not how did this happen etc.

from player standpoint i am always interested in what you would call alternative endings: for example what if i destroyed Arroyo but otherwise acted like virtuous person? What if i kept Tandi for myself? (well that one was not actuall ending slide but you get the idea)

I have complaints about this game, but the ending isn't one. The whole story is just an excuse for me to raid lots of ships, which is fun. This is clearly a dystopian story from the jump and expecting anything but a bad ending would be silly. In fact I would be annoyed if a happy ending was patched in.

Intent was inquiry not complaint.
followup is what i would prefer not a demmand.

That being said i do not mind most of the game up untill that point (with exception of certain point i wont reiterate because it is gripe with vast majority of games having that mechanic)

Fair enough, no offense intended :d4_wink:

James, how could you destroy Arroyo? I thought if the Village dies the game ends?

Anyway, for me, the ending of the game **IS** a complaint, a game ending which essentially kills you and says you should not have even bothered at all because you die anyway (in game where your goal is staying alive) is a problem

(sometimes when you are turlly evil you shalt find a way!.

allso kill all but i think 2 NPCs (Villadge elder and Hakunin, i think and you effvectively destroyed the villadge without failstate, it is a while since i played pure evil so it might be others).
