With the cold sleep machine and that Kuon received the CD, Setsuna would have access to the time machine and save all the Rinne/Rinné in the bad timeline all the other "he"-s had caused. In the Midsummer prologue, he muttered in his mind that Rinné was the name of the last girl he hadn't saved yet. (If you skip or don't remember, Winter Route's Rinné is his "Rinne" in the legend) means that unlike the Winter Route, he still remembered everything and this would be the end of the story. And with all the informations gathered from the midsummer route: Setsuna said: "Let me stick with you... until the very end", this confirms that he will stay with the love of his life, Rinné, and help her finish her machine to "save the world" (The would-use-to-be-unfinished blueprint: the Ark of Hope). And since here, it will be an open ending and leave the rest of the story to the readers' imagination.. And I think that Rinne is Setsuna's daughter because when they stayed in the cave/workshop, Rinné told Setsuna that they should do something that they had never done before but he replied that they had already done everything so maybe they had done it. There are also other proofs that Rinne isn't related to the Oharas, she doesn't have the curse and nearly all the man on the island at the time Kuon arrived had the curse while if one of the parents have the curse, it is 100% for their children to have it too according to Maria (and Kuon and Setsuna don't have soot light syndrome), and i can't imagine Kuon as a maid just arrived at the island to have sex with other guys without loving them... And in the conversation between Setsuna and Kuon, it is said that Kuon regained her memory and blamed Setsuna for not staying by her side for 20 years raising Rinne.



TL:DR: This IS one of my favorite VNs of all time aside other good ones: Steins'Gate:, Clannad, Grisaia Triology, ...

I didn't read this (i haven't finished the game yet, still got Rinne and True end), i do kinda know the basic anime end (but game likely will vary as always), but i saw the TL;DR as it being one of your favourites, i guess i ain't in a position to declare it as one of mine but i have (thus far) enjoyed it as much as some of my other favourites (Rewrite, Little Busters and the Eternity Sword series), so it will for sure be ranking in my top 3 (very likely), i will play through to finish (sadly been slow playing due to work and weird shifts which sadly will continue) before declaring but i gotta say Karen is heading for best girl for me (odd as i went in on anime opinion of Rinne being best and then Sara, funny how Karen is so much better in game).

I love this VN because you can't predict everything in this story. The plot keeps thinkening and later on, you think that you have understand the story but then you realize that you know nothing. And I think that the characters' developments in this game is perfect, everyone is important in the story.
And Sara Route is one of the reasons that this VN is so unpredictable. You will later find out why sara has her "birthmark" on her chest like her mother in the Winter Route.
So basically this story loves to mess with yoir mind, it keeps you thinking about everything has happened so far and at some points, you will be be like "OMG, I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED THIS POINT". (I have to re-read nearly everything in other routes to understand what the ending means).
So tl;dr: Opposite to nearly everyone, I love the VN true end and I consider that this end is a lot better than the anime end. And my favorite char list is : Sara> Rinné = Kuon >Karen>Rinne.

I recently finished this VN and didnt notice when they explained about Sara's birthmark . What was the explanation since that was one of the things it left me curious?

Oh Sara and her mom got 'the same birthmark' cause Sara bit her mother while she was breastfeeding lol if you havent read the winter route . And if you have, It was due to her ancestors performing rituals for females

I can very much agree I love how G.O trolls us in every route and we either jump right into conclusions or think that it's too good to be true. Red herrings are everywhere... Also the VN drops the biggest hints in the most ridiculous way and I find that really hilarious The game could be controversial to some but this is also one of my favorite novels to have been granted the opportunity to experience
