Companion Quest Rewards...
Now I know this game has been out for years, and I've owned it since launch, but it was only recently that I found the time to really delve deep into it. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, but I've finally gotten to the point companion quests opened up.

The quests seem to reward companion specific legendary rewards. The assumption would be that being companion specific rewards that they would be items that were really good for them. (if you keep them upgraded properly, of course)

However this doesn't seem to be the case so far. Lets look at Milo for example. His legendary weapon is a Bazooka that does energy damage. The Bazooka part is debatable...aoe attacks are nice but the speed is so slow it offsets the benefit. Milo can attack multiple opponents for more damage through multiple attacks with an assault rifle in the same timeframe and do more damage. Or use Soot to attack the same number of targets much faster.

But that isn't really my issue. My issue is the Energy damage. Milo is without a doubt, through both story and skill allocation the group's culture expert. Culture gives bonuses to acid damage, not energy. So giving him an exclusive energy weapon makes no sense at all.

Something similar with Michelle's legendary pistols (both the one she finds in the main story and the one from her quest) not having AP damage, which she specializes in. Its also odd that they're both pistols when your own guide here talks about SMGs for her. (But Damien is already awesome with his starter legendary SMG so I can see mixing it up a little)

I went on a little long for a years done game, but just curious if I'm missing something. But its disappointing that I'm getting legendary weapons that seem poorly personalized for the only person that can use them.

Good point, I think initially during the beta testing the bazooka for Milo was indeed Acid damage, but for some reason (I can't remember anymore now) I changed that. I think (but I should check more carefully) to make sure that the amount of damage types for Legendary weapons was evenly distributed, or something like that! :)

Hah thanks for the incredibly fast reply. I thought I'd check back in a few months to see if anyone had thoughts on it.

Overall I am enjoying the game quite a bit. I feel bad it took me so long to finally get into it. Its quite a bit better than the first one. Once I get finished, I'll finally make time to finish Cursed Lands...

Thanks! I'm also working on a new fantasy RPG right now, hoping to finish it this year: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1629210/Tales_Of_Aravorn_An_Elven_Marriage/
