Once again, a MagicHouse game made its way into my library. In an attempt to install, 100% and review every random game I've collected over the years, I forced myself to load up Magical Fable: The Princess of Light.

As I'm sure anyone visiting their store page knows, MagicHouse games were pulled off/banned in masses a while back. So while this game was an improvement overall compared to the previous titles I played, it's not even purchasable anymore, and still featured their most glaring issue, so it's an instant downvote from me.

I will give them credit: The art work featured in this game is probably the best that they've produced so far, and the offputting hentai photos no longer exist here. I can say from the previous game that it is for the best, as their nudity artwork was some of the funniest and poorly drawn I have ever seen. Instead, this game features coupley/normal photos with explicit text, so if you were planning on playing it solely for porn, it's not here.

Even moreso, if you were planning on playing solely to 100% it, I can tell you with full disappointment there's no achievements attached to this title. Achievements were the only thing compelling me to finish MagicHouse games in the past, so not only was my time and money wasted here, I received absolutely nothing in return.

The story was nonsensical and there was no real drama, plotline, struggles, etc. It just didn't exist. You play as a Princess who wants independence, she flees for a day off among the commonfolk and meets an array of men who you can choose to romance. However, she always stays a princess in the end and doesn't truly develop as a character. There's no real consequence for her constantly disobeying higher ups either.

More credit: The male representation was significantly better in this game. Prior games featured complete scumbags and forceful, idiotic male leads, and with Magical Fable for some reason they decided to finally create regular human beings. We are given four choices this time, consisting of a Butler, Merchant, Soldier and idk creepy old man? Not sure what he was suppose to be.

The main character appears to be late teens or early 20s in canon, so the Butler and Creep were waaay too old of choices imo. Butler had to be 40 and Creep was somewhere between 45 and 80. The MC also had bias against them from the start, especially the butler who she resented for controlling her life. The romance options with them felt out of place, they were better helpers or friends in her life, and their endings were far too abrupt to be believable. However, they were gentle/respectful and kind men up until the romance phase. I'll get into that shortly.

The other two choices appeared closer to her age, though it's later understood that the Soldier was also waaay older, at least by a decade. So truly only the Merchant was a peer/normal choice. Both of these men made more sense with the MC however, there was some chemistry though it moved way too quickly once again. I think their storylines made the most sense for someone who would end up with a Princess later on, as all routes end in marriage, and I have nothing to complain about besides the glaring issue with all romance in MagicHouse games.

On to that, MagicHouse is notorious for using a strange trope of displaying virginal girls as people who will reject, protest, etc against sexual acts to the point it becomes forced. After which, they'll change their mind and enjoy it. Think, "ow it hurts nvm i love it" but on an extreme level, and it genuinely can't be seen as anything other than rape and is extremely uncomfortable and offputting to read. I don't believe this is a translation error either, just a gross trope boomer freaks enjoy.

This happens in every route, to a point of being nonsensical as all of the men are portrayed as considerate and gentle up to this point. The Soldier in particular was portrayed as extremely shy, and even throughout the act asked for permission to do each activity, and yet, somehow this strange trope exists even in his route. It's disgusting, and it's a great that MagicHouse games have all been pulled.

The last credit I will give to them is that they fixed the loadscreen/animation time issues and you no longer have to sit through tons of texts/rpg maker garbage to witness a new route. After completing a route, you'll be taken back to the route selection part of the game, and can immediately move on. Additionally, all the men had their own unique stories this time, with no scenes being reused. I can see they genuinely tried to improve, but ultimately they decided to stay firm with the singular thing they shouldn't have: You don't put rape in games, man.

Whenever I start to play a new game published by SakuraGames and developed by MagicHouse, I'm seriously wondering why I waste my time with it, despite knowing that the translation is going to be terrible and that I won't like it, but I buy them anyway... WHY THOUGH? This is my personal neverending why, or maybe I'm simply more of a masochist than I thought.

The quality of the English translation is consistently horrible, like in all Visual Novels published by SakuraGames, but this time in the truest sense of the word. In fact, Magical Fable: The Princess of Light seems to be a dreadful horror SadoMaso Otome. You don't believe me? Let's take a closer look at some phrases of the game then!

Primarily, our heroine is longing to take the eyes off of handsome faces. What is she? A potential serial killer that only kills people to collect their eyes? Is she by any chance a ghoul or related to Uta and just wants to get some tasty snacks for him? I guess we will never know about that for sure. Furthermore, people are burning and teeth are pushed back by to**ge*, which makes me wonder if she either has periodontists or if the guys just have t**g*es made out of steel. It's not a hurdle at all for these supreme gentlemen to effortlessly push away the strongest substance of the human body with their slippy and soft to*g*es. That's quite impressive if you ask me. You're wondering why I'm censoring the word tongue? Well, they censored it in the game as well, so I thought I should go along with that, merely to give you a little taste of the game's vibe.

In spite of everything, we absolutely must not forget about the relentless and persisting sound of horny water and a desperate butler who would love to wear the lipstick that our heroine is supposed to wear at her wedding. Welp, I guess no lipstick for her then. It seems like she has to marry without her lips being on fleek, poor girl.

Yes, the translation is really THAT bad, and what I wrote is exactly what you could possibly make out of this mess, assuming that you only take into account what's actually written there, instead of trying to decipher the machine-translated nonsense that is thrown at you. You'll experience a completely different and unique story if you don't try to understand it, and I honestly prefer that considering that the actual plot seems to be nothing but mundane and monotonous. What I'm trying to say is, if you are already going to be tormented by this, then I'd suggest taking it in a humorous way.

I didn't play Magical Fable: The Princess of Light with the R18 Patch, since you have to join a Discord Server of a Steam Group in order to get it. That's way too troublesome for a Visual Novel of this caliber unless you already have Discord installed on your Pc anyway.

Somehow, these games don't miss to entertain me in a bizarre way, and I think that's the reason why I still buy them. Nonetheless, I can't recommend Magical Fable: The Princess of Light despite the pretty artwork and the admittedly handsome love interests.

I have to admit, that I got a bit of a soft spot for these games.
The only thing that ever truly bothers me about them is the translation.
Other than that?
The games are sold cheap, the art is usually pretty nice
and while the overall game lacks depth, I'd still say that it's entertaining to a degree.
Recommend it to any hardcore otome fan and collectors of such games.
However, if you expect a certain standard or quality then you might want to stay away from this one.

This game is really cute and I'm glad I bought it.
Sure. There are complaints that could be made. The translation could be better. And each route is pretty short, not very deep or complicated. But if you want a sweet little love story with a sprinkling of fanservice... this fits the bill..
I really enjoyed watching the little pixel characters during the credits. it acted as an epilogue of sorts. It's funny how much can be conveyed with four emojis.

This game is... just bad, all around.

It's a visual novel made in RPG Maker, which means the only backgrounds you get are as part of CGs.

The machine translation is laughably bad. In many spots, it is impossible to figure out what is really being said, and in those instances where you an sort of get the gist, the phrasing is just weird and off-putting, resulting in none of the characters having a distinctive voice/personality.

I honestly kind of expected that based on other reviews, but decided to give this a shot because there are so few R-18 otomes. I wish I had not wasted $2 on this because there's no way I'll continue past the one (painful) route I played.

The H-scenes are just as awkward as everything else, not only in the strange wording, but also in how abruptly you get there. Just save yourself the trouble and play FLML for the hundredth playthrough instead.

以ＲＰＧ製作大師所製作的18禁乙女遊戲，不需要任何移動操作，選擇對話選項（大概2~3個)增加好感度即可，成功加好感度會有效果音提示；四個角色各自有一個GE跟BE，好感度沒滿就是直接進BE。

人物立繪及CG圖是由不同的繪師完成，有些真的很美，有些真的令人汗顏；女主的設定是擁有光之魔力的公主，但我覺得這就只是個聳動的標題，對於遊戲劇情完全沒有任何影響；對話文字會有沒跳行被吃掉的情況，還有我知道翻譯很辛苦，我一直很感謝翻譯人員，但是我真的不能接受生殖器修飾成香腸這件事……，劇情已經夠無法讓人進入狀況了，這玩食物的翻譯更是讓我直接喝水嗆到。


乙女遊戲不該是這樣的，一點心跳戀愛的感覺都沒有，第二回見面就被推倒到底是怎麼回事？女主你是真心想見世面還是？！然後第三回見面就互訂終生，進程之快讓我連吐槽反駁的力氣都沒有，再加上被閹割掉的CG，這錢寧願省起來我拿去買狗叫社新作。

非常不推薦，特價也不推薦，不要浪費錢。此坑已棄不推，甚至這一家的其它款遊戲我都不確定會不會打開遊玩。

開了個開頭,覺得還可以,後面就不清楚了

但在我這裡好像點bug,一是插上10塊錢的手柄會強制使用,且方向鍵有問題,二是遊戲過程中不能彈出設置菜單嗎?

一個月後看看有沒有更新再玩
