how to play with 3 players?

i have two controllers, and also using keyboard. all the key bindings are set to the respective controllers but itll only let me join in with one controller not the second one. i can only get two players to work. what do i do?

i can play when i join my friend and we play three of us together, to join you have to click the attack button. by the way if you unplug your controller and plug it back in while in game the player's controller will transition to the next available slot for a controller basically making him control someone else. to fix this you need to either restart your pc (because game restart doesn't seem to work for us) or you switch the player's controller slot to the next one basically if the player was using controller slot 2 then now he's slot 3 after restarting your pc it will go back tho so you its only a temporary fix. if you can't fix it then i'm not sure what else to suggest, just make sure that everyone has their controllers plugged in and set them to their correct slots.
