Superfighters Deluxe

Is this game dead?
Also I feel the game should of been on Early Access so it could get more attention.

I just checked the server list, and there were at least 25 players playing online on a weekday... So, while things could certainly be better, it ain't dead yet!

The game, as always, is a work in progress, and we hope it will attract more players over time as the game becomes richer in content.

Our current priorities are:
a) Implementing some ideas to combat hacking, piracy, impersonation, and other behavior that hurts the experience of other players.
b) The next story campaign, which we plan to roll out for Steam's Lunar New Year sale, i.e. in about a week's time.

After the campaign (which has been extremely time-consuming!), we will probably focus on adding more maps, weapons and items to make the base game more interesting.

We also intend to bring the game to more platforms, and to keep releasing content. SFD is still getting attention from smaller review outlets and streamers - with some luck, we could get a large influx of players.

SFD is a unique game, and we believe it has a chance of finding a bigger audience. And if you're one of the people playing and talking about the game - thank you! We really appreciate it. :steamhappy:

Not really. I still see old players playing the game on occasion, including myself. I actually got to playtest the server-side feature myself today and it has been an awful experience, so maybe that has spooked some of them away; hopefully people turn the feature off so players keep coming back to play more than just once and then never again.

There are more active hours than others for this game.

We're working on some basic NAT Punchthrough (Edit: It's now live in the 1.0.4 update) support as people in general find it hard to port forward a game. I hope we can get it working. Hopefully more hosts will start to be active and those having a hard time joining games might be able to join easily.

If you make that work I'll surely host my maps that people loved 2 years back. My server filled up in a minute.

Great now I can host. Almost feel like the 10 euros was worth it. Now to find some players who can endure being killed 2 times in a row and not leave instantly.

After a week of hosting for 2 hours every day in Europe peek time, I can say the game is dead. I saw maybe 3 players joining my server who left after dying. Other hosts' servers also empty. Noone will pay 10 euros for this, no motivation.

I feel the game should of have been on Early Access, the only source of attention was from Kongregate or Newgrounds, when they have announced SFD 2.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
