Class Guides? Or Helping a new player pick a class/race?
Game seems pretty neat, I couldn't help but pick it up on sale. Seems to have a lot in common with EQ, and that's not a bad thing. I was just curious if there were any guides out there for classes, or more advanced play.

Right now as a warrior I'm just doing the low level dungeons and using shield bash to keep aggro, but I'm trying to make a decision if I want to try and tank long term. I'm not sure how this game works quite yet, and was looking for guidance. Maybe make a second character that's simpler to play, who knows.

Much like when EQ released, information from guides and wikis is pretty sparse. Your best bet is probably our discord server... or just chatting in game.

as i see it:

simply being a warrior, wearing plate armor, and using intrepid shout will make you far tankier than the average player, and tanky enough for most content pre-hell difficulty. you don't really need a dedicated tank prior to that, it's nice to have a tank in smaller groups, but generally spreading out the damage across five buffed players and using healing potions is sufficient.

with that said, shield bash is actually one of the better dps builds for warrior. other builds are reliant on long 10+ second cooldowns, and they have a lot of downtime being filled with suboptimal skills. shield bash has no cooldown and just puts out steady aoe dps. your single target kinda sucks, but that's where mastery: panzer comes in.

I would say pre-hell most classes arent really a requirement though nice to have.

I'm curious how pure dps classes are fairing soloing. As a healer soloing is a breeze. As a tank I imagine always carry health pot and your good.

Hey dev, any future plans for alternative skill options? Like picking between 3 versions of a skill, that would.change how it behaves? Or subclasses that do a similar thing

any class can solo even healing or buff just would be very slow as well as many deaths

Between Shaman and Shadow Knight which is better solo?

Shaman has been amazing to solo. Self healing dot is nice + healing buf with hot. Shaman seems to be the most damage focused of the 3 healers and you can play Shaman more as a dps with some healing support.

Bear druid is so much fun! Started like a mage with aoe and healing, switched to bear form at 42. Died at 45 in hardcore mode, RIP Balou :(

Crusader and Monk are both very strong for solo play.

If I was going to play HC, I'd choose Crusader, they're practically unkillable.

I got five question as a new player trying to learn this game.

1: What is parry and how does it happen? It's mentioned in a few place and my rogue has the passive skill but it remains at 1 even after 13 player levels.

2: I found a cool 2 handed Minotaurus axe and is part of a set. Which class can use those?

3: ... is there a way to "predict" or farm specific set items or are they completely random? (found the lvl 16 minotaurus ax in a level 9 dungeon).

4: Can you send gold from a character to another like you can do with items? Ergo, can you farm gold on one character to use on another?

5: Are "party of characters" only for online plays? and who controls where the party goes in a dungeon? If I join a party, do i have any agency on how to clear a dungeon and when to start an enemy encounter? I grouped all these question together, but it's basically the same "Who controls party and encounter in dungeon".
