I'm thinking a simple waypoint system for moving the Titans might be helpful, so you can control the path a Titan takes around scenery/other titans better.
Secondly, sadly that bug of a Titan not firing is still happening (I am running teh latest version). I had a Reaver dead to rights with my own Reaver, no movement or anything necessary. Targetted him with the aiming order, had green liones all the way, clicked proceed and nothing (for several seconds). That one bug cost me the game I was fully in control of til that point....
the Retain function was available to me every turn also (except on the double turn I had gained from retaining previously). Is this correct?
Yes, that's correct. You can retain the initiative once per activation, and then you must hand over the activation to your opponent.
a brightness control in the options menu (it's very sunny here at the moment and the game is a tad on teh dark side anyway)
I'll see what I can do. :)
I'd like to echo many peoples' concerns over the visualisation of the shooting during versus teh dmagae suffered at the end of the action
I understand. We're trying to stay as true-to-source as we can, and the tabletop game is, like all tabletop games, an abstraction, which in the PC context does seem to have led to a disconnect between what the player sees and what happens to their unit.
I'm going to discuss this with Glenn. At this stage, I can't offer more than that. Making changes to the damage model could fundamentally change the game...and we quite like the game right now.
We will consider going a different way, though, as I've said. :)
Especially the point about being able to choose deployment for you own Titans, a key part of the tabletop (any tabletop) game.
On the deployment, I'll have to disagree. You can currently position your Titans by flank or centre when building your maniple, which we do offline for speed and convenience for both players.
Having said that, we reserve the right to change our minds. :)
I was a little thrown to find out that, after m,entioning it specifically in the press releases, the game ISN'T based on Titan Legions at all (that being a 2nd Edition Epic ruleset
Yeah, I'll admit I had that misunderstanding when we were originally pitching the idea too. It turned out that Titan Legions was the brand, not EPIC. So all the games that I considered being "EPIC" were actually "Titan Legions", just later editions. We were ultimately directed to use the appropriate "Titan Legions" branding. :)
You can only retain once before you must hand the activation over to your opponent, but if you have enough unactivated Titans, you'll generally be able to retain several times in a single turn (if you wanted to, that is).
If you have already retained once, the Retain button does not appear (because you must hand the activation over). Likewise, if you are on your last activation, the Retain button does not appear (because there's nothing to Retain with this turn). :)
BTW. Do you know the footstep sounds are out of sync? Sometimes I can't hear a footstep sound on the right leg but hear two footstep sounds on the left leg. And it is really off when the Time Compression on March Order is elected in the Options.
