While most of them do have timing questions involved, there's no reason they couldn't do 'what if' type stories in this game to cover fan-favorite events from the movies. Broly was, iirc, the best received outside of maybe Cooler, as far as movie villains go. Boils down to him being both really simple, and strong enough to just be a straight up threat, without needing trickery or numbers games.
EDIT: I seem to remember Xenoverse/DBO characters showing up in this game at some point. They are no more valid for the 'true story' than the likes of movie villains.
They are clearly canon because they were adapted into canon. It's a loophole but it makes more sense than Broly, who wasn't adapted into canon but was totally redone for Super. Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' were both adapted nearly 1:1 with small changes, unlike Broly's story from the movies. It's apples to oranges, but you know that.
All you are doing here, is arguing by repetition of assertion, on the basis of 'well official media covered it' as if the old dragon ball z movies weren't official media. As if the 'canon' itself doesn't occasionally completely rewrite it's earlier events (interestingly enough, that particular breed of BS is a lot more common with Super than it was with Z or even GT)
Kakarot itself is non-canon, as it makes some interesting changes to the framings of certain events and had a BUNCH of extracurricular activities that straight up don't match the timelines in the original show.
You've also actively sidestepped that this game is about Z, not about Super. So Resurrection F and Battle of God's movie incarnations don't count as any more canon than any of the other movies, as they weren't canonized until Super, which did make some noticeable changes to the line of events in those movies.
On a side note, this game's dlc versions of those events also differ notably.
You are arguing canon, as if Super's canon is remotely relevant to Kakarot, which was a retelling of Z, in order to try to justify them not bothering with a fan-favorite villain.
The real immediate punch in the nads to your ENTIRE ASSERTION, is that the Bardock DLC for this game goes off the (post super) non-canon 'Bardock: The Father of Goku' tv special, instead of how things played out in DB minus, which is considered the canon. Again, establishing further precedent for DLC to cover non-canon things.
As far as I'm concerned, do a big-ass DLC for Kakarot that walks you through ALL the old DBZ movies and their events.
EDIT: woops, didn't check that you were the same person who had initially posted, sorry about that. That aside, everything I said remains true for how things relate to Kakarot and the potential for DBZ movies to make appearances.
