They made Tenshinhan, a character that in the base game is just an assist, playable and that's cool, but then all the other fights of the tournament that don't have Goku as protagonist are presented as just brief dialogues or cutscenes. Multiple important moments like Yamcha's first Sokidan are entirely omitted.
Only the prologue vs King Piccolo and the last battle vs Majunior received proper attention. After finishing it i understood why this is the cheapest DLC on the store out of all the narrative ones so far (Bardock, Trunks, 23rd World Tournament).
It's a shame because the 23rd World Tournament is one of my favourite arcs from the entire manga and i would love to see more pre-Z content in modern DB games.
Maybe it was because of this, but it wasn't true for the last DLCs that I found quite challenging. Whats there is good but it was so ridiculously easy. i didn't even see any of the advertised features about ring outs or count outs.
I agree, though i wish they had stuck to making 1 dlc a year to make them longer, the fact you can play as Kid goku, they could have made the entire OG DB but now i Think on it. giving the side quest ect it would felt like a full game. maybe they should have done it as a Expansion pass ill admit the Combat animation and styles of this DLC heavily inspired on old Martial arts focus of original, as Z always felt to high pased basic punch kicks and mostly blast base. its funny re watching cutscenes and seeing how Goku who meditated and that on Kami look out. flat out tells vegeta in latest super manga meditation is stupid how far goku has fallen in Super to forget his own teachings
Goku does that kind of thing once in a while throughout the series. Only example I can easily think of is on Namek against the Ginyu Force, but there's other occasions.
