I have solved this issue for myself with my old manual save.
1. Go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\"Your id"\851850\remote
Check for files
ManualSave0
ManualSave1
etc...

Copy them to save spot like desktop.

2. Open game with new adventure
3. Beat Piccolo
4. Save game in any slot
5. Exit game
6. Swap your old save with new one (screen will be with Goku lvl 2 but it will load your old save.

P.S.
Manual save slot 1 = ManualSave0.
In folder "851850" you can delete remotecache.vdf, and in folder "remote"delete the file SystemSave0.

i dont have any ManualSave0 or ManualSave1 in the file. only see SystemSave0 and that is it.
