Did they just give up after the Frieza saga or something?
I'm over halfway done with the Cell saga
So much of this has been skipped, not just little parts either - major sequences are either just not shown or explained in text form against the black screen.
17 didn't kill Gero and just left him to die with his head still on his body, the Z Warriors left the lab without destroying it, Krillin and Trunks returned to the lab that's now mysteriously destroyed and the screen cuts to black saying they destroyed the basement.

16 didn't rip off Cell's trail
Trunks didn't get his buff Super form, they skipped Trunks' fight with Cell and Vegeta never used Final Flash.

Both the Android and Cell sagas have been completely butchered in terms of content and story.

There's a lot of odd translation issues before that

like Vegeta claiming he's only on Namek to stop Frieza and save the universe (Wrong)
or Launch saying she's both aware of her other safe (Wrong) and lives at Kame House (Only true for original DB.. or was she just in the attic for all of Z, Super, and GT?)

That's a shame then. Typical cash grab development rush strategy to maximize profit.

Didn't they also boast at one point that the game would provide answers to old plot holes and have never before seen extras to the story?

Yes, and there's none of that.
Just finished it now and I'm beyond dissapointed that Future Trunks isn't usable in post-game - which I know makes no sense plot-wise but they could have made up some BS about him coming back for some reason.
Neither are fusions and despite actually playing as him for a few minutes Goten is just a support character.

Well fam... We've been duped.

I think a lot of that content you're referring to is cut due to the amount of ''gore'' it displays. Vegeta's Final Flash showed Cell getting butchered, Goku's IT kamehameha did the same. Japan is quite strict about stuff like that and i'm actually suprised they put in Tiens armless scene.

That being said, I do agree. I was quite disappointed when we didn't get to fight as Trunks vs Cell. It's kind of odd.

I think the Buu saga is better, even though that doesn't show literally everything either, at least it's a bit more consistent so far.

Not really....as someone who hasn't seen the anime in a long time i doubt I'll care about these small details....as long as the androids and z fighters do battle, Cell does battle with everyone, and Buu does battle with everyone I'm good.

They don't though. They've missed a gigantic scene that was quite dramatic/important. Even a fight.

These two specifically. I'm not too bothered by them not showing a certain kill on screen, but these two fights/scenes were blatantly missing and that did bother me.

I'd argue these two scenes are of narrative value as well. In the first, it quite obviously shows Vegeta's tactical genius by baiting/provoking Cell into taking his attack head on. Cell, being as arrogant as he is thinking he cannot be damaged, gets damaged. They're character moments.

The second one teaches us an arguably even more important detail when it comes to fighting. Buffing muscle mass and buffing your ki does make your raw strength higher, but your speed decreases. Cell literally teaches Trunks this after he boasted how much ''stronger'' he is than Vegeta. Even a line in the game addresses this, that Trunks can't do anything until Vegeta gets knocked out so he won't wound Vegeta's pride.. and then we don't even get to see it at all.

That's kind of saddening, I also wish there was a cutscene for the SSJ finger vs SSJ sword when you beat Trunks haha.

They changed stuff in Frieza saga I don't like.

Vegita is no longer left for dead in a pool.

Vegita no longer punches Gohan in the gut.

Frieza now says "maybe I should get rid of the sayians, a super sayian could be a problem" on Namek, which makes no sense given how he already done that.

Scenes inside the space-ships aren't, never see Goku training

I do get the impression they were low on budget and time, the patch would indicate a bunch of content not finished on time.

Alot of the animations are very simplistic PS2 era with loads of cuts to text, with the voice work very choppy at times, recorded at diff tones.

In the opening movie of the game there is a scene features Vegeta preparing to perform that Final Flash, stretching his arms to his sides... and it's really been cut?
