-In Depth Honest Review- (MUST READ)
Personal rating 8/10

whether you are new to DBZ or a fan to the franchise this is a very good game full of content and a few dozen+ hours of gameplay. Its one of the nicest open world games.

(Loading Screen) 10/10
The loading screen between instances are 10 seconds long if that. Which is hardly noticeable which is a great feature, they don't come off as annoying compared to previous dbz titles. (When presented a story arc of a battle, dialogue is exchanged and the battle begins without any loading screens)

(Gameplay) 10/10
An open world version of Past DBZ titles, the battle system is easy to perform tasks mid battle basically input buttons and the game follows through without a hitch. In my opinion its not in depth complex battle system. Making the game a bit more responsive when battling. NPC Characters will give you side quests that'll award you items, EXP and more. Also once you met a certain level requirement. You can Train your character to learn new attacks.

What makes the gameplay so great? You are given the option to Explore the open world inbetween Story Arc Dialogues. Allowing you to have freedom to decide when you want to progress through the story, or fight a few open world enemies to farm for EXP or collect items / orbs / ETC. The way I see it is I can take a break from the story, and explore, or I can take a break from exploring and play the story. There is no wrong decision and from what I noticed you don't get penalized for deciding what you want to do.

(Length) - "EXAMPLE" 10/10
Reading the dialogue and not skipping the cutscenes while playing the game casually. Depends if you're going to speed through it or not. It'll take 2-4+ hours Just to get to the first part of the Namek Saga. This game provides a lot of gameplay. So expect a lengthy DBZ Game.

(Graphics) 8/10
They're outstanding vibrant and really detailed for a game based on the anime. Some Cutscenes are better than the Anime itself.

However I will point out that there was some clipping which threw me off a bit, but the clipping is so very minimal its not even a big deal. Addressing Clipping- (At the beginning of the game Goku and Kid Gohan were on the flying nimbus. Goku then places the hat with the 4 star ball on Gohans head, and exchanges a few words with Chi-chi, it was at that part the ball was clipping through goku's head)

(Voice Acting) 8/10
The lip sync is poorly done. But that is the norm with these dbz games, so its not a deal breaker for me.
The voice acting is okay, I don't see a problem with it. Maybe I find it okay, because I Played at least a dozen DBZ titles in the past plus watched the Anime Series several+ times.

(Controls) 6/10 (You can Customize the control layout)
The controls are easy to use once you get the hang of it.
(Keyboard + Mouse) is better imo as far as movement goes. They both have advantages / disadvantages. K/M is smoother when flying but the button layout to use attacks such as the Kamehameha Wave is a bit of a finger stretcher.
On the controller side of things, moving vertically up and down. Is hard to maneuver a character to the designated height you want it to be when collecting Z Orbs. But using attacks such as Kamehameha Wave is easy to pull off compared to K/M. You can play around and customize the Button layouts for both. But the Default Controls for both K/M and Controller is probably the worst part of the game.

Honestly Dragon Ball Z KAKAROT is a Buy. The open world experience of DBZ felt like it needed to be done.

There was one DBZ Game in particular that had a similar playstyle/vibes as this game which was DBZ Budokai 3 for PS2 which was released in November 16, 2004. Nearly 16 years ago.

If you were a fan of Budokai 3 then you'd definately want to get KAKAROT.
