With that out of the way you will notice a lot of action RPG systems. Enemies will gain "Super Armor" (when they glow red) to signify they are about to do a super attack. You can not damage them while they telegraph this so the best thing to do is back off and start to dodge. You can, however, use an attack with Stun damage to break them out of it if you have got their Stun meter low enough.
This "Super Armor" was also used in Xenoverse 1 and 2. It was much worse there since enemies would have this armor on during the entire fight as a means to create artificial difficulty. Here it is used much more intelligently. It is more of a compromise to give the AI a chance since once you get use to how combos work you can combo lock the AI and they just can't break out of it otherwise.
If you dodge at the exact same time that some enemy skill reaches you, the game will enter in a slowmotion where you can charge some powerfull skill, charge your ki, etc
Once you give enough damage to some enemy you will see the '"BROKEN" message, whenever this happens if you enter in the Surge mode and transform, there wil be special cutscenes for each attack, and even an "Dramatic Finnish" just like Fighter Z
Also, for the stun break that Akuro was talking about, there are melee supers that specifically "deal stun damage". So the name of the game is keeping pressure on the enemy and extend into as many melee supers that deal stun damage to get the enemy into a break state and then unload surge onto them. In the break state, you can knockback an enemy and still chain a melee super because the game will always position you to land your hit.
To get more in depth details, pause the game and go to system > tutorial. Most of the tutorials do not pop up during the game for some reason.
Maybe this is RPG game ? than where are those RPG elements ( dont tell me that this horrible "skill tree" made from this game rpg lol )
Maybe platformer like Super Mario or Sonic ? where you gather your coins/apples/balls and jump from place to place ? because i dont know now - after i finished this game i know only that 90% was boring cut scenes and i not so time ago watched DBZ and comparing this game to original anime is a crime
You need a transformation active and you need to have surge active. There are also only a handful of signature moves that will initiate a super finish. Lastly, it has to be a killing blow on an enemy.
Apparently, super finishes may also work without a transformation if you break an enemy’s guard, but I have not been able to verify that myself.
Otherwise my advice is build your combo score as high as possible, dodge when the enemy glows red (or you see red arrows for other enemies you aren’t fighting), and save surge for when you absolutely need it most.
Also, as someone said above, end a combo with Y so that you can regenerate ki when you are low.
If you fail a dodge then block and press dodge button to appear behind the poor bugger, hitting him downwards very useful for enemy beam attacks when you suck at dodging, Ki attack him, restore KI, or fast fly and continue the melee combo. Awaken that power gauge boost asap also.
All this with attacks thrown in of course! Different characters are useful for different styles.
If you think of it like "classes" , to name a few of my favourites: Piccolo = tank, Vegeta = caster dps, Goku = melee dps.
However that is quite flexible! EG Goku's Kamehameha or Piccolo's Makankōsappō, lit.
There are 4 *basic* melee combos that look different on each character but the button sequence is always the same. All involve hitting them with a usual punch and then somewhere adding a different button, and that can be chained into many many hit combos if you dodge correctly on their counter and keep them guessing.
For Goku tranformations I do SSJ until you run out of Ki or cannot sustain it and then Kioken their ass til you can fill that ki back up. PS: tranformations change melee combos visuals, combo lengths and dmg but not the actual buttons you press.
Some combos actually fill your KI as the finisher such If you press the "KI" button while punching any enemy triggering that 'explosion' mechanic. This actually gives you Ki for free! Some drain your KI and some do neither.
Best tip: Vitadrinks - Super cheap and very useful!
Also *a lot* meals. The permanent stat boosts are essential and do it as often as you can. That is your best method of boosting stats.
Your opinion doesn't matter here man. Nobody is forcing you to read anything. Go find something to do.
MK is a fighting game, no ♥♥♥♥ sherlock it has more depth in fighting... This is an action game with rpg elements. Just like any action game with levels and skills that you have to unlock.
This game has its flaws, flaws that many fans will overlook. Junk? Nah, you're just living that part of your life where you think that being the "everything sucks" guy is so edgy and cool. The problem is, well... you. The rest of the people that already answered to this thread wrote some cool stuff to do so you don't have to "dance with the enemy"... the ♥♥♥♥ that means.
And that's it... unless you've really seen everything this game has to offer and you still didnt find it funny. Next time wait for reviews. But again, just cause you don't like something it doesnt necessarily "suck".
