I know that's mostly repeating what I originally said but make sure you're trying to load the auto save and that you're putting it in the correct location. I don't have this game installed anymore so I don't have the necessary files to verify this again.
I just had to resolve this issue for a friend and it turned out that when copying offline files to online remove the .sav part of the file name, delete all of the existing files in the online save location and just have the autosave file sat there from your offline play, and it works a treat.
you will know its worked when you start the game and steam tells you your local saves are not the same as your cloud saves, tick the "replace cloud saves with the ones on from this machine" and it shall all work fine.
