This game runs on GameMaker?
I fell in love with this game the moment I started to play it, and being someone who takes pride in modding games that should not be modded (read: payday 2), I immediately started trying to find a way to extract sprites from the game so I could make art and whatnot with them and/or maybe make a mod that replaces various enemies with sh*tty memes.

Don't worry, developers - I haven't actually managed a full decompile yet because I kind of suck at ripping, and even if I did have a full decompile I wouldn't plan on releasing any of the source code to anybody. It's your work and you have a right to keep it that way, which I respect in a sense.

It's just that, well, the manifest I pulled from the main game executable has this in it:

<assemblyIdentity version="1.0.0.0" processorArchitecture="*" name="YoYoGames.GameMaker.Runner" type="win32"> </assemblyIdentity> <description> GameMaker C++ Core Runner. </description>

I thought this game ran on Mogura, an in-house engine? Even if Mogura is just a heavily-modified version of GameMaker, isn't that still dishonest marketing? What's up with that?

All of that weird stuff aside though you really outdid yourselves here and I can't wait to play through the bonus post-credits area once it releases :Y::A::Y:

If you open either of those in notepad, you'll get a jumbles of weird looking text, but will eventually find the manifest data in it. It looks like Mogura Engine 1 was made in Multimedia Fusion 2 and Mogura Engine 2 is made in Game Maker: Studio.

Very weird. Why would they ever make the game on Game Maker but write in the main menu that it is made on Mogura???

the jumbled text is called moonspeak, there's a few decompilers for games tha use it, you can search at your leisure.

this isnt game maker, though.

moonspeak

you'll have to be more specific, IIRC "moonspeak" is a blanket catch-all term for any written language that uses ideograms and logograms instead of phonograms. if you're talking about like random unicode character noise i think the proper term is mojibake? but that's probably not it given how i've only seen mojibake happen on webpages before

unless of course there's an actual software encryption utility/method titled "moonspeak" out there in which case you can color me retarded
