Imagine a world where the old aristocracy rules high and above the common class, a world still run by the old rules. Power flows along the lines of the old families, families like the di Monferrato and the d'Orléans, and strong marriages between them grow their influence. It's in this academy that George meets Erin, a commoner and a mercenary scouted by the academy for her exceptional combat skills. Ostracized herself, the two become fast friends.
