Great Potential And an actual simulator unlike other titles

American truck simulator may have the maps and states and stuff but there is no actual truck driver content....this game is way better.....if i wanted to drive thousands of miles like in American truck simulator for small gains and not much customization....I can watch truck drivers on youtube....whats the point of a simulator that has a massive amount of roads but no variation at all.....the original truck simulator was good but this is an actual simulation ...huge maps are completely uneventful and repetitive....This game actually is more accurate in almost every way....if I wanted google maps (basically what ATS uses) i can look at my phone or actual drivers....Great Job Developers....nice to see someone actually take the time to not just rush out trash for 20 dollars like Valheim for example.....Quality over quantity...Games in the last 5 years have become mostly terrible...rush out as many 20 dollar pieces of ♥♥♥♥ possible or like Valheim heist millions of people with old technology and map generation that was outdated in 2005.......Nice job ...good to see there is actually some hope for gaming in the future..

Imagine ATS & ETS2 with seasons, freezing to death almost, being able to walk around out of the truck, having to eat & sleep, etc they would be fantastic games!.. and yes I have all the maps etc for the other two and yeah no matter where you go each city mostly looks the same. But then they are just truck driving games. whereas this one is a survival game as well. I do like this game I just wish they would hurry and fix it better..

I love Valheim. Came out as EA and gets constant improvements. Plus its stable. That game has way more content than ART. Valheim isn't a driving game, so apples to oranges.

Oh, and ART has zero variance to roads. scenery, shops. I have never died in this game, so the survival aspect is not really there. Its more of a food/sleep/shelter mainteneance thing.

I'd go out on a limb and say that more real life truck drivers play ETS/ATS than ART. Because driving is the best part of trucking. In real life, attaching cables, dealing with the cold weather is the least desirable aspect of the job. The point of ETS/ATS is relaxation without it reminding us too much that it IS a job.

With ART its always great potential. Still hasn't been realized yet until I can play without losing trucks and or items and progress.

to be fair ART is trying to break into ATS piggy bank. It took ATS a long time to get where it is and just copy/pasting what they do is never going to work so ART is trying something different. only time will tell if they can pull it off. Peeling the playerbase from ATS is no small task.

played valheim for 200 hours with a large group of people and once we got to a certain level it just wasnt fun anymore...i mean you get like 170 million people to buy your 20 dollar game...the content added should be spectacular...and it never was... this game i play a lot without the ai traffic on as i just enjoy the trucking aspect of it ...if ats had anything close to the weather system in this game it would be amazing and i have a lot of time in that game...i just honestly felt that ATS was not great without adding community mods...maybe its just me ? Also the Alaskan game takes a serious amount of time to level up to get good jobs ect...that probably doesn't help as most people are impatient ...i have 150 hrs into ats and its great...i just don't see it being as realistic as this game can be.

Agreed it needs a lot of work but i love the repair aspect the clearing roadblocks and the winter weather is outstanding.Actually hard to drive lol without crashing

That would be awesome if they combined ideas or added the community mods to Alaskan

That would be subjective. It doesn't change that American Truck Simulator is doing exactly what its name suggests. Simulating trucks.

absolutely not at all, peopel who play ets and ats do not want survival games.

absolutely not at all, peopel who play ets and ats do not want survival games.

If this Alaskan Road Truckers was actually a finished and polished game instead of a perpetual beta test, i think i might enjoy it more than the DLC-spamming ETS2 (i don't have ATS so no comment on that).

I think this game had a good idea to evolve the genre, they just failed miserably with the execution. For people who just want to do nothing more than drive for hours, ETS2 isn't going away any time soon.

I am not sure, but i believe ETS2 / ATS want to change the game engine to unreal so they can add more stuff in the game that the current game engine they are using is not letting them do so, and if that happens, I am sure they will add most of these mechanics from ART to their game, with optional enable / disable features.

This world be a world best game ever if they do, even just seasons would be great!. Remember though SCS Software are very slow going.

All you need is to look at the physics model of ART to debunk your claim "this is an actual simulator".
