how do you get the airship resources?

i have airships but they say the need to be connected to the network

Airships can only connect to towers that are at a high altitude. So you either need to find some really high terrain to build a tower on and connect the airship to that, or just terp up some high terrain yourself.

Use the TERP, and create a single, 20 height spot. If needed, make a 10-15 height spot next to it to bridge the tower.

Oh my, I built 3 of those and never figured out how to supply them. Damn

FYI the mission you get them in during the Farsite Expedition (Founders) describes to you that high elevation is required when you acquire them.
