Can't Reload Colony Map From Save?

I'm experiencing some rather annoying issues. I was playing a colony map last night and decided to pack it in "way too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ late o'clock". This morning (checks watch to confirm) when I tried loading the save it just brings me back to the info page for the map. If I try to load another colony map, it will load, but when I exit the mission (even if immediately) it creates an auto save and I'm once again unable to load that map.

Am I missing something? Is there a button I should be pressing or double clicking that isn't obvious to rejoin a saved game? Even "Restart Mission" won't work, bringing me back to the info page.

I suspect you're attempting to load the saves from the main menu and not from the Map info pane?

On the map info pane, there is a "play" button. If that button has a little icon in it, there are saves. When you click the Play, it will show you a list of saves as well as a restart button.

Do not that if you have loaded the game and exited, then an autosave will be created and it will overwrite any other autosaves you may have.

You can also, if you load the map from the main menu, see if you can get to any save files for that map once the map has opened, from the Menu in the top right corner.

I can't find anyone else having had this bug before, so I think we might need to do some troubleshooting. The game stores downloaded Colonies maps, but it downloads them as soon as you select them in Colonies so I am not sure how that could be causing an issue. So my guess is that it would have to be with the saves.

My first question is can you access other maps or just Colonies? One of the ones I would be curious about are editor maps as they are stored similarly to Colonies maps but are accessed differently. My second question would be what happens if a map has no saves but has been loaded before. In the options menu is a 'No Auto Save' checkbox, enable it, open a map you have no saves for then exit and try loading that map again. Alternatively you can delete the folder for your save games on a specific Colonies map and then try loading that map. Lastly, there is a 'Load File' option along the bottom, does that work for loading your saves?

This is where I was attempting to load the mission from. I tried restarting CW4 and it didn't fix the issue either when going straight into the Colonies. I could click on a map (in this case PAC Bulwark), see two saves (the Autosave, and my manual save), and clicking on either would just return back to the info page.

I was able to load into maps without saves, but attempting to load a map with a save from the colonies section (click on map->click Play->click the entry for the save) would just return to the info page.

Frustratingly I went out to run some errands and when I returned to begin your troubleshooting I started with loading a campaign map and that worked. Even reloading the same map with a save worked. Then went to the colonies and I was able to load saves again. So... Problem solved? This might be related to long runtimes (I accidentally left the game running overnight on the main menu) or an initial load of the game not allowing you to load colony saves? Or maybe the game just didn't want me to throw my morning away and was incentivising me to go out. >.>
