Should I Play the Other Creeper World Games First?
Thinking about getting this game. I don't know much about it other than the fact that it looks cool though. Is it worth checking out the prior games or just jump right into this one?

Also, can you tell me a little more about this game? Thanks in advance

There's a bunch of lore stuff if you're into that but its pretty drawn out over the large amount of missions. Every game so far has been an improvement of features over the last. You can play both Creeper World 1 and 2 for free with a .SWF player on the internets but they're not as feature rich as 3 or this current release.

(3) Arc Eternal holds its own as a game and I'd say thats worth playing regardless of this newer title as it has pretty large amount of challenge and variety to it and the graphics are pretty similar minus the 3d view.

Would you say it's worth it though? Considering just getting the bundle

I personally recommend 3 and 4, but wouldn't push for 1,2 the soundtrack and the other game. Including the soundtrack offsets the 10% savings you would get if you bought the items individually. (at current discounts)

I agree with Johan in that I personally recommend CW3 and CW4 over CW1 and CW2. However, you can jump into any of the Creeper World games in any order without issue; the games work well individually and do not require previous knowledge of the other games.

Creeper World games are kind of a mix of a RTS and a tower defence game against a liquid enemy called the creeper. You build up your economy, your infrastructure and your defences to hold against the incoming creeper before pushing out to secure objectives.

All of the Creeper World games have demos available on the developers website, and the CW4 demo is available on steam, feel free to try them out and get a better idea of how the games play.

I'm gonna go ahead and buy the bundle. I did the math and it seems the soundtrack added saves $2 on buying individually and the story seems interesting (unique) to say the least. I'm really enjoying the Creeper World 4 demo so I'll do a straight dive

What can you guys tell me about Particle Fleet? I imagine it's set in the same world. Is it before the Creeper World games?

"Worth it" are very subjective.

All the games have demos that you can try out. The older games' demos are on the knucklecracker website. CW4 has a demo on Steam.

The Demos are typically the first 5 levels of the full game.

Note that if you buy one or more games individually, Steam eill recalcualte the bumdle price when you decide to buy the bundle, so you won't lose out if you buy one or two individually before buying the bundle.

Subjective is specifically what I'm looking for. Sale ends very soon so a wide range of opinions is valuable to me right now

Wanted to make a small update here. I decided to buy the bundle and played Creeper World 1 and 2. I finished 1 and had a hell of a time. I'm heavily enjoying the second one as well. takes me back to the Flash Game era of so long ago.

Just wanted to say, I appreciate the insights you guys gave. These games do no disappoint, and I'm looking forward to playing Creeper World 3 & 4

Final update: I've officially finished all the games in the series that come before Creeper World 4 and I *highly* recommend anyone interested enjoy the games that come before first. The story has countless tie-ins and the lore is deep. Also, the gameplay gets better with each game so you'll be less likely to enjoy the previous games if you play them after. I've enjoyed immensely every single one though and enjoyed seeing the games ramp up in complexity and the story become more full and rich with each one

After playing the demo of this I would stick with CW-3. The story or whatever it is really get's in the way of gameplay, also, it is stupid and nonsensical. It's as if they have made up any old random dribble to act as a story and literally drags the game down into the dirt. I read the text but didn't understand one word of what it was blathering about. Maybe down to very, very bad translation.

They all have some sort of story but never got in the way as this one does. They need to drop the so called story telling and just improve the games performance.

I will be sticking with CW-3 and particle fleet I think.

Having played extensively all of the CW games including the Particle Fleet, I would say: Yes, yes, and again yes. 1,2 and 3 are amazing. About 4, especially the story, I believe won't make much of a sense to those not having played previous CW games. It kind of builds up on the other games and it's like a short chapter taken from the whole generations who witnessed the catastrophic nature of the Creeper. If I had gotten 4 first, probably I even wouldn't have bothered with the others, as I feel the last of the series isn't reaching up to the others, especially CW3. My personal favourites (and those I would suggest) are 1, 3 and Particle Fleet.

I agree. I ended up playing them all in order and the story, watching it blossom, was utterly beautiful.
