I have never try them and ty so very much :)
Dont forget if you need other defence on there such as a sprayer, youd need more porters to carry the ammo over as well, etc.
If you use non-energy weapons (missiles, sprayers) then you'll need additional porters to carry over their ammo types (arg/AC)
Then you need to get the Greenar back to the factory. You can build a porter on the island and set it up to send Greenar (not Liftic) back to the main grid. - Make sure you transport the right goods on Porters, it's easy to get the raw material and the refined product mixed up sometimes.
Or you can set up a M-Rift network by building a M-Rift at base, and then transferring Arg over to the island (using a second porter) to build a second M-Rift node there. When both are complete the island will be attached to the main network by Magic(tm) and you won't need porters anymore.
If you've got the space to build it, a porter on the island is quicker and cheaper to set up, but it takes space, and having the island rely on porters means you can't expand very far before hitting energy logistical issues.
M-Rifts take a lot of Arg and a fair bit of time to build (a couple of minutes I think), but they're small nodes which are fire and forget and make neat shortcuts in the network so you can expand as you want.
