The little payload thing is admittedly a roll of the dice in many cases; a lot of times, the payload will land harmlessly away from your stuff assuming you have snipers appropriately on the edge of your territories, but sometimes, one of those things will get a lucky shot in post-mortem. I think these rare and unfortunate moments are negligible. If you see this happening often in a particular part of your frontline, just add some more snipers and cannons to back up the ones that get temporarily disabled.
I guess it's just less fun to shrug and say "what can ya do?"
Suicide drop half a dozen snipers directly onto the egg nest to pop all the eggs. Build a shield and place it next to the nullifier while it constructs.
Problem solved.
I think this is kind of my point- the threat is not per se behaving in a different way. It's a small falling thing that a sniper should target and subsequently disintegrate.
I am not having difficulty with them, nor with coming up ways to mitigate them. It was a question/comment on fit and wanted to make sure it was actual desired behaviour and not a strange bug. Thanks.
And make sure to check your lines of sight for dead zones that your snipers can't shoot into. Their huge range doesn't matter if there's a hill or cliff giving gliders cover to get close.
