So, funny story: The bomb dropping sound got old really fast. Any way to turn off that specific sound?

There is no option to turn off specific sounds, just overall volume levels.

I would also like to somehow disable bomb dropping sound. It is too aggressive compared to the rest of the sounds and disturbs the calm while playing.

As a matter of curiosity, are there games where the sound of individual weapons can be adjusted?

@75Karsten yes, I believe either Project Zomboid or Prison architect (one of them, can't remember which atm) offers a full list of individual sounds and the ability to disable each of them.

Not weapons per say but at least some VNs allow you to adjust the volume of individual characters.

I have to agree with the op, if you happen to have a particularly long line of mortars firing or a runway or two of bombers constantly dropping bombs, it kind of gets grating after a bit. Not to mention I've experienced sound glitches from too many sounds happening at once. Try dropping two or more rains and two runways worth of planes on some creeper.

So really, it's when you have "too many" of those? :P

Interesting.

Can you screengrab the volume control panel? Must be big and/or busy?

I've asked and knucracker indicated he'll drop the volume of bombs to 75% of current levels in a future build

Yup, it was Project Zomboid. It's part of their Settings -> Audio -> Advanced.

You can never have too many mortars/bombers but the sounds they make can be too many.

The impact of having too many units is devastating and i be happy to explain that for you if you don`t mind : more unit you have more energy you need - more energy you need the longer time you use on the mission.

Basically all unnecessary units you make or have in a fight from the very start of the mission all the way to the end consume unnecessary energy and that gonna delay any mission where the key is really balance.

So if you have issue with the sound they make as you said then you definitely have too many units if that make any sense for you.

Balance dude is an important factor in this game to do any mission fast from the very beginning.

Completely depends on the level. Im currently in one where i have over 400 energy to use, am using about 200 and i need to work my way up a field of purple creeper, in the dark, with mesh, i have 4 airfields and i need more!

If I want to sic 60 bombers on a stash, I'm gonna do it and no one is going to stop me.

-- That was not the case where i trying to stop you phenir, my intention was to tell you about the balance between units and energy from the very beginning who is very important in this game where a small mistake can have major consequences on task time if you go all in for it.

-- I have not yet find 1 map so far in this game who can support energy to 60 bomber under any circumstances who is able to attack continuously when my ground units are in use.

Even 1 runway with energy bomber later gamestage requires great planning to avoid power loss which in turn can give your ground units devastating problems if you gonna use all your energy bomber continuously.

To even choose to try to use 60 bombers is madness where they gonna drain your energy for a long - long time in the game where your ground units gonna run empty for energy instantly who again is devastating for any progress you may have done.

-- Much better to build one runway with Energy Bomber and two with AC Bomber where you need to save your AC as much you can from the very beginning to that stage your two ac runway is maxed up with ac.

In between you may use some few energy bomber to support your ground units and this way you have power enough to build even more ground units where it is needed.

And when your two runway with ac bomber is ready for a fight then you starts one "massive attack" with all your ac bomber at once and send out 3 and 3 energy bomber to keep your energy at an acceptable level where your ground units have alway enough energy to fire at max.

-- Well some map have UltraCaps where we are able to store up to 400 energy / 100 energy each UltraCaps who give an amazing energy effect but that i guess you know who again can support more energy bomber to attack continuously.

Good luck with your mission.

Those UltraCaps is amazing where it is much more easy to keep track of the energy and they give us an huge energy boost for a short time when it's needed.

May i ask which map you play on ?
