There are no plans for a MAC version. There's discussion of the why on the discord, but the bottom line is it's been made very difficult to do by Apple. Developer posted this on the discord last summer, and the situation has not substantively changed:

"Windows only
About half of the macs (in the steam hardware stats) have fairly low end GPUs. That's out of the approximately 3% of the user base that mac accounts for. So it's only about 1-2% of potential users that have a mac and have a mac with a GPU that will play the game well. Apple's not made development life any easier with their notarization and other issues. So at least for this demo and the near term future I'm not spending time on the Mac build.
It may run under virtualization, same as it does under proton for linux. But I've not tried."

Like sage kinda suggests, you can try virtualization, like with Wine. Back when I only had mac I'd buy games and try to get them to run with Wine for 1.5 hours. If you can't get it working then you can refund.

If you can get the demo to work, the main game will probably work. What I did was use wine to install the windows version of steam and install games that way.

Good luck!

Edit: here's the main page for wine. It helped me play tons of windows games on an old macbook pro. https://www.winehq.org/

It's made with Unity, though, right? I understand that the notarization thing is annoying, but it's not like there's any significant porting effort involved other than that. It's not gonna work in Wine (on macOS) if Direct3D 11 is a hard requirement. Given that this year had the highest Mac sales ever, and that the new M1 Macs should have no issues playing the game (and Unity already supports those), I'd respectfully suggest reconsidering the Mac build.

Another vote here! The hype around M1 is crazy - so much so I bought a macbook pro M1. have a windows machine that will run it easily but would be great to just slip the small laptop with crazy battery life into my bag and take the game with me.

the simple sad truth is game development is hard. one person doing it all himself is harder. i don't know all the details but i do know it is not a simple 1 click thing to port it. and like it or not the mac audiance is relatively small. believe me i would love to escape windows grip. but if it where easy then there would be a lot more mac games than there are.

:( I understand but it makes me sad I have ~800 hours in CW3.
I will buy CW4 and play with bootcamp but most likely only finish the main mission,
jumping from one OS to another is troublesome and I like CW to just play as short break.

Very disappointing that Mac CW fans are excluded from this release, especially given that this is a Unity game that should theoretically be just a few tweaks and a recompile away from creating a Mac build.

I really do hope that there will be some eventual way to run the game on a Mac, possibly via Crossover? If anyone has any success with that or similar, please post to let the rest of us know about it.

Would it be easier to support GeForce NOW? https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/

Bought it to support a series I have loved, but not sure how to play it since I only have Macs :(

i was so thrilled about CW4.. i played cw3 and the other games for hours and years.. it is the one game i reinstall all the time.

Now i am so sad! i can understand that Mac is just a niche.. but all the time i watched the youtube developing (about one year?) i was thrilled.. now i realize there will be no version for my mac.. i cant play this awesome game...

Recent notarization requirements for Apple games require an insane amount of effort and is actively driving away indie developers from Mac. If you'd like to see more games release on Mac, you should drive your efforts to Apple.

Google "apple notarization indie game"

Thanks for the pointer Grabz. As an iOS and Mac dev I notarise apps every day as part of my workflow, but for me it's a bit easy because Xcode automates all of it. However I googled the terms you suggested and I see that the gist for the process to sign Unity builds seems like 5 steps, which are probably very easily scriptable too: (https://gist.github.com/dpid/270bdb6c1011fe07211edf431b2d0fe4) So I don't believe this is a question of complexity.
