Restore game progress after system change.

Hey guys, I need help.
After getting a new laptop and installing CW4 on it, it turned out that my progress is lost. I did not back up any saves, thinking it will fetch it form steam - I mean - achievements are there, even in game on the new laptop.
It six to have t go through the entire storyline just to play custom maps again. Can you guys help? Can I edit some save or ini file to unlock other game modes?
Or maybe I can get and import a save from somewhere to unlock the game?

You don't need to unlock anything to play custom maps.

I also believe you can press "U" while pointing at a map in the story to unlock it.

Similar issue- computer crashed- all my story saves (individual maps) are still on my hd, all my achievements on steam are still there, but story progress (i had completed) is gone, but ALL of the other games and progress (such as from the span) is gone too. Whats the use of steam cloud if it doesnt save entire progress??? or does it- am I missing something ?? Thanx for any help.

Of course Steam would still have your achievements.


The game only saves progress in the Steam cloud. This is an effort to reduce the footpront of this game in your Steam could save allocation or budget -the amount of space Steams lets users have for cloud save.

The folder that Steam is told to save is

C:\Users\[YOUR USERID]\Documents\My Games\creeperworld4\data

On my computer it's approximately 80K.

I can't tell you what went wrong. One possibility is that the cash corrupted this or that you got out of sync with cloud save or any one of a number of reasons.



if you have backups, try restoring from there. If not, you may want to just unlock the relevant missions. or not.
