Comparison to Katamari Forever?
I've only played Katamari Forever from all the saga, can someone describe some similarities or differences?
Amount of levels, music, gamemodes. I already read that we don't get the cousins.
Which one did you like best?
Thanks!

I have to add that I LOVED katamari forever, I would be incredibly happy to see it on Steam as well.

This is the very first game in the series, so it has fewer bells and whistles than anything that came after it. It's also going to look a little bit older visually, but the difference isn't huge in that regard. I'd say it's still worth playing, but it will seem basic in comparison from a level/gameplay standpoint.

The first game was just stages that increased in size, with sort of side-mission stages (constellations) that involve hitting specific sizes while gathering particular types of items and stuff like that.

The second game expanded things a bit in terms of environments, and had some of the more memorable levels of the series, such as one where you rolled around in the sky to pick up clouds, one where you're on a racetrack and can't stop the katamari from moving forward, and one where you are rolling up fireflies around a campsite to make the brightest katamari possible on a peaceful evening. It's a substantial step forward.

While you played the latest one, and the one that is most advanced in terms of types of levels and scope of the game, there are a couple of things that Forever can't touch compared to Katamari Damacy and We <3 Katamari. For one, it seems like the line/dialogue writing was handled by different people, as it's not nearly as funny and charming as it is in the first two games. Also the "story" is really cute in the Damacy - I can't so much recall how it played out in We <3 Katamari, as it's been so long since I was able to play it. I think the more important thing that Forever couldn't deliver as well though is the soundtrack. If I recall correctly, Forever had a bunch of remixes and such, and while they were ok, they couldn't hold a candle to the original songs that were on the OSTs for the first two games.

You're most welcome, I hope you enjoy the game if you wind up snagging it. For what it's worth, I got the platinum trophy for Katamari Forever, and still enjoyed replaying Katamari Damacy nearly two decades later.
