My favorite part is probably the middle section, when you leave the house and roam the streets while animals and people flee in terror from your katamari.
It gets increasingly difficult to control the katamari and achieve high scores, so there's a big skill component. The art style and soundtrack are a huge part of the appeal.
The different sounds each one makes is so interesting!
I can't can't quit until I've filled every collection page!
Some people get a lot of fun out of blowing eachother's brains out.
Some people don't
Some people love games that are basically just a comic book, with no actual gamePLAY

Some people enjoy games like this
Some people don't
1. Turn off brain
2. Push buttons
3. Let hindbrain soak in the glorious music of the Katamari
The eternal modes are great for completionists who want to get every single item or cousin, or if you just want to zone out endlessly.
