Stuck on loading screen?

I've never had issues with the game before, I managed to play it fine for a little while yesterday, but as of last night and today whenever I start up the game I get stuck on a loading screen forever. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I changed the display settings from windowed to full screen windowed yesterday, would that have something to do with it?

It could, depending on your graphics card and drivers. Try changing it back to windowed, or setting it to full-screen exclusive. Full-screen windowed is the mode most likely to have conflicts with other processes running in the background.

How can I change it when I can't get into the game?

I haven't researched this in any detail, so proceed at your own risk. It looks like the game stores local configuration information under the path:

C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment\katamaridamacy\Saved

Under Saved you have two folders, SaveGames and SaveTemporary. The latter seems to be where system configuration is stored, in files called input.setting and quality.setting.

If it were me, I'd try backing up the SaveTemporary directory elsewhere, then deleting those two files. Restart the game (reinstall if necessary). Hopefully you should get the default controls and video settings while still preserving your saved games.

As long as you back everything up carefully, you should be able to recreate your current game state. Messing around with configuration files outside a game is inherently risky, so proceed with caution. But since your current game state is non-functional, what do you have to lose?

Same problem here. I tried the other suggestions from different discussions here (reinstalling the game, uninstalling Citrix, downloading the Windows 10 N media feature pack) but to no avail. I even went for a system restore. @_@

Deleting the 'Bandai Namco Entertainment' folders did the trick for me. I deleted them from AppData\Local and AppData\LocalLow and verified the files before running the game. The game finally loaded. 😄

Thanks Natty La Ridge! I already had 110 mins of gameplay and was desperate for a solution and didn't want to refund. I love this game! Brings back memories.

I'm now having this issue after having played it a few months ago without issue.

I was starting the game, and then when I would select my save file it would fade to black and never load. Tried a few different things, including re-installing and as suggested here, clearing the saved data/config. Now when I start the game it just fades to black after the Namco title logo appears and I don't even get to the part where you select your save file.

Would love to play this a bit more but it seems it's not working.

I have the same f-ing issue. Tried all solutions but the only way to make it work is to reinstall every time before I want to play. Start game > Nothing happens > mouse click > game opens > Hear the sound and see the Namco Logo > Nothing + crash.
