You have to play through the tutorial full screen. When you get to your home planet, there's a Key Config/Video Options screen (activate via the woodpecker) where you can toggle between full screen, windowed, and windowed full screen modes. Set the mode to windowed and the resolution smaller than your display, and Bob's your uncle.

I was very annoyed that it booted into windowed mode, with no immediate access to settings or hot keys for full screen.

Having to play through content before I can enable full screen really takes a stinky dump on my Katamari picnic. SHAMEFUL!

Reviving this because I'm a streamer and this is absolutely annoying. Having to basically set OBS up TWICE for this. SMH.

What moron though it was a good idea to lock the user out of the display options before the tutorial level. I thought companies figured out how to port console games to the PC in 2002.

Nah dude, its f'ing annoying. I've got a fairly large tv set to 4k mode, yet for some reason this game boots up as a teeny tiny window at the far right corner of the screen. Now I've gotta stand an inch from my screen to make out what the hell I'm doing in the game as I stumble through the tutorial and first level. It's stupid, games that have done this have been stupid for the past 10 years, its annoying. Grow a pair and quit excusing bad practices in gaming.
