Xbox One Controller does not work

The game is unable to detect the Xbox One controller. I have tried with Steam Controller off and on. Can anyone else confirm the same problem? I know some games only detect the first device they think is a controller and I'd like to rule that out before I start unplugging everything from my PC.

I use a logitech f310 which uses Xinput and it worked fine for me.

If you launch Control Panel's Devices & Printers and the controller is recognized fine there, then that means Steam's Big Picture is the culprit. If you have an emulator (or another steam game), that's another test as well. I'm going to guess it's Big Picture. Caused me lots of problems once they implemented it into non-big picture mode

I just finished my first playthrough using the xbox one controller. After some troubleshooting, I discovered that it will not work at all through a USB hub, powered or not. It did not detect my xbox one controller until i plugged it directly into the PC.

I had to right click the game in steam - click properties. Bottom of first page {General} change to FORCED ON and it worked for me

This should be pinned because it fixed the problems I was having getting controllers to work.

Works fine without any tweaking or configuration on my Xbox One controller as well as my wife's Xbox 360 controller.

I've got a (Bluetooth) XBone controller and it worked perfectly for me too. No issues at all.

Also had to set "Force On" in the game properties for the controller to work.
Thanks Canadian Guitar! I've never had to do that before and didn't know the option existed!

Yes, for me too.
Connected with the official Wireless adapter.......and gamepad emulation of steam globally turned off (as that could affect games with gamepad support in a bad way...so only turned on per game where it really is needed)

i tried forcing on and cant get xbox one, switch pro, or nvidia shield controllers working. although they are working fine within steam's big picture and other games (tekken, lego, carmageddon).

I played this for a couple of hour the other day with an Xbox 360 wireless controller just fine, and now it doesn't work. I can't get past the screen where you load your save file - no inputs work at all. Anyone got any ideas?

Did you load since then?

I thouht I had controller issues too when I first went to load a save, didn't realize you need to press both sticks to get it to load...

Yeah, I know about the both sticks thing - it's just not accepting any input at *all*...

*edit - a full reboot later, and it works. Must have been an issue at my end. Sorry about that everyone!
