The Wonderful End of the World is an attempt to be a clone. I tried it years ago and apparently thought it was too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to finish, though it has positive reviews.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/252150/Grimm/
(Use steam search, it won't let me link the store page for some reason)
You don't roll things up, but instead you corrupt them and Grimm doesn't grow in size mid level, but instead his size can vary between chapters.
There is a free demo episode so you can see what the gameplay is like.
Just be aware that quite a lot of the episodes are just crap and several are clearly made in a hurry as filler as this was originaly some episodic game for some site that had to have new episode out monthly or so.
Some times the premise works and it's amusing to watch how a story that was a bit dubiously child friendly form the get go starts to fall apart as Grimm does his work like some sort anti moral guardian...
...And some times the whole ♥♥♥♥ just falls apart instead and you get a A Puss In Boots -version of the Aliens -movie for some bizzarre reason or end up playing level set up in horse's intestine that is about as bad to play as it is to look at. Can't recomend any of the first season thats for sure.
It's been years when I last played this, but I can recomend for the story at least:
Iron John - An obsucre fairytale, turns into a postapoc spoof of Terminator and this time it actually works.
Sleeping Beauty - One of the later episodes, has the fairygodmothers trying to save their story from Grimm's infulence.
Snow White - The last episode, less about the tale itself and more about Grimm and the seven dwarfs.
Aaand I can't remember any others by name, but the "third season" had some intresting variety on it with instead of just genral pisstake of the fairy tales and more of the same repetitive gameplay.
