Do items fly off more easily in this version?
I have not played the new version myself, but I can't help but see other players losing items even after they gently bump into something slightly bigger than them or they run into a wall. Looking back at the older version I can see items only fly off whenever there's multiple attempts at either rolling on something too big or is too steep a wall to climb.

Nah, the resolution just used to be smaller so you didn't notice as offten. You've always been very vulerable in this game.

Items fly off a lot in Katamari Damacy. The amount it happens was massively reduced in We :spirallove: Katamari.

Yep, it's this. Damacy in particular. I've played all the other Katamaris except for the mobile one that was taken off the market, and you don't lose nearly as much to collisions in the sequels.

Yeah it feels like I get caught on things and lose objects more often, but I haven't played in a long time.

Exactly this. They neatened things up a bit in future titles, but this first one was always a bit unforgiving in that respect.

Getting stuck was the worst. Half your stuff falls off and it takes so much time to gather them, that it becomes its own game. Trying to climb things was out of the question.

The Katamari in this one was always rather fragile. You had items fall off for doing simple things like just trying to climb.

It wasn't until the second game the tightened the ball up a bit.

The first Katamari game was less forgiving than its sequel in this way.
