I've never had problems in the past trying to configure my wheel before but this just won't play ball.
However, out of curiosity I tried calibrating an old Logitech joystick and that has worked with no problems. I'm going to keep trying to set up my G29.
Thanks again for taking the time to help.
For one, try what onearmedbandit suggest, It´s a known fact that these LG wheels don´t like every port on your PC, I would try a none USB 2.0 port.
Try to reset the driver from windows, control panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices Manager > Human Interface Devices > then right click LG Driver > Properties > Driver > Disable Driver. Then click the disable driver again to turn the driver back on again.
Worst case scenario would be to unInstall your LG software, unplug your wheel, reboot your PC, then plug your wheel back In again and let windows use It´s generic driver. You will lose some options settings like wheel degee and FFB settings though.
Thanks once again for your help. Well, it all finally came together! And yes, it was a port issue!
Tried all ports...and suddenly, after many plug in's and plug outs, the G29 fired into life! All of a sudden after taking up approximately 10 hours of my time - much to the annoyance of my wife - it seemed to want to set everything up itself!
Anyway, sorted. And it's a brilliant motorbike simulator! Tough as hell, as it should be.
Thanks again.
I've played it on a controller and in my opinion it isn't half the game that it is when using a wheel. For one you have force feedback, plus more precise steering and throttle/brake inputs. Then you have people like Chris Beeves and a few others who have either adapted ffb wheels into handlebar set ups or created their own from scratch.

Completely agree. It is absolutely fantastic playing with a wheel!
I'm 61 now and taking it nice and easy - for real - on an old Honda Super Blackbird xxx, but by god it can move when I want it to. When I was younger I rode a handful of sportsbikes and this motorbike sim is, with the FF set up correctly, the closest you can get to the real experience! Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2 gives it a damn good run for its money but lacks, of course, the FF.
Certainly, despite all the bells and whistles, the Ride and Moto GP games, in my opinion, don't come close.
