Honestly IDK but if it does happen it should be a 1st person shooter like GoldenEye because Yooka Laylee 1 and 2 were both inspired by Rare games (Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country) and made by some of the original Rare team, so why not GoldenEye? (this is a joke but it would be pretty epic)

Hopefully they give the 3D platformer another shot, perhaps taking the constructive criticisms of the first game such as the worlds being too big, uninspired environments among other issues such as the status screen not showing a comprehensive list of items but rather only how many you've found, and use that to improve on their next work.

Actually, another idea I think almost everyone can agree on is a kart racing game. After all, Rare also made Diddy Kong Racing and Mickey Speedway USA, so why not? Bring back the different vehicles, focus on story, adventure hubs and multiplayer and modernise it a little bit. It'll be interesting to see what exciting ideas they can come up with regardless of which direction they take.

id love another 3d platformer too, but optzimized around mouse and keyboard. i need precise movement, and a mouse is much better than an imprecise analogue stick. yooka laylee 1 had terrible controls
