Playtonic is still a relatively small team. Even though they've grown since YL1, I doubt they have an engine powerful enough to handle 3-4 tonics from player 1, 3-4 tonics from player 2, and keep track of both.
Seriously, I'm afraid I don't know what else to tell you. Grab a copy, grab a buddy, grab a copy for your buddy, and play through it together on both your systems.
Either that or you never actually wanted to buy the game to begin with, and just want to throw a fit to see who gives you attention?
