There really should be a line between those ships we own and the ships for sale. Even if it is just to hammer the point home.
Also the trade in button being selected gives a confusing total value on the sale price of a ship.
I'm not trying to rub salt in the OP's wounds by making this claim, but the best explanation I could come up with on what happened was a case of the trade in button selected. OP sold Slow Drive and didn't get the money they expected, then bought it in confusion back triggering a real trade in of their main ship.
I'm sure the dealer giggled in glee taking their 800K cut, but the notion of buy backs at higher price is hardly a new one. I'm sure there are few gamers who haven't been stung by that one. My condolences OP
I'd love to look further into that.
your probably wright there, it may not be a bug but it is pretty unclear whats being sold or not, I did look at it for some time before I pressed the button, but it seems I choose poorly
I have no real issue of buy backs at higher prices but I just wish there was like a 5 min grace period to make sure you didn't do something buy accident, or better yet letting you test drive new ships or equipment before finalising the sale, sure there is a simulation which is useful but not as useful as having hands on the controls and trying it out yourself
yeah I wish I had recorded it, just so I could point out why I thought what I thought and I did take a minute to look at it before the sale, I don't think it is a ''bug'' but it was just really unclear if what was going to happen was what I thought was going to happen, especially as buying and selling ships is a fairly rare event, I have about 75hrs in game and I'm pretty sure all I have done is sold the starter ship and brought an eagle
