Cothon-211 ore falling out
whenever I d a sharp turn with this ship the excavator opens and usually swings ore out with a high speed away from me. I think it might be caused by the larger size of the excavator, as the problem doesn't occur in the cotton 212.

Ya, I went through the same but to me it felt like a design decision. As if it was a downside of that specific ship model. Weak cargo doors I guess ? While slightly annoying it's something that can be compensated for with careful piloting.

What annoys me way way much more is the completely retarded MPU / MSU design that can't eat ore properly. The chunks keeps getting stuck at the entrance. It makes the ship so inefficient that I'm thinking about selling it back and moving to another.

I advise you to do exactly that if you are still using Cothon. Cothon is very unimpressive ship. Good alternative is vulture prospector or KR 37 with ARM + mining lazer CL600 + monocargo container (for W) (although they have their own drawbacks). After you earn enough money with them, you can exchange them for OCP (for ARM lovers) or Titan (for drone connoisseurs).

MPU design and cargo loss are a problem on most ships. It worsens for the ships with unconventional cargo hold designs, such as OCP or Elon. As a result, many captains resort to bare mining with baffles.

I advise you not to do that, because it is a skill issue. Instead be greedy, move slower and avoid sharp maneuvers. At some point, you will want more expensive and bigger ships like OCP, Titan and Elon. But the bigger they are, the slower and clumsier they get. So start preparing yourself for the pain train.

As a last resort, you can use Rusatom MPU, it has no dedicated chamber and dissolves rocks in any part of cargo hold.
