What annoys me way way much more is the completely retarded MPU / MSU design that can't eat ore properly. The chunks keeps getting stuck at the entrance. It makes the ship so inefficient that I'm thinking about selling it back and moving to another.
MPU design and cargo loss are a problem on most ships. It worsens for the ships with unconventional cargo hold designs, such as OCP or Elon. As a result, many captains resort to bare mining with baffles.
I advise you not to do that, because it is a skill issue. Instead be greedy, move slower and avoid sharp maneuvers. At some point, you will want more expensive and bigger ships like OCP, Titan and Elon. But the bigger they are, the slower and clumsier they get. So start preparing yourself for the pain train.
As a last resort, you can use Rusatom MPU, it has no dedicated chamber and dissolves rocks in any part of cargo hold.
