Why is captain spirit extremely laggy?

I hope you guy's fix this game soon to make it run more smooth, I can't play the game no matter what settings I put it on I even tried uninstalling and redownloading and putting on windowed mode, nothing is working it is way to laggy for me to play, I never had a problem with lag in life is strange, or life is strange before the storm both of those run very smooth but for some reason captain spirit is very laggy and I'm guessing because of this new engine it's running on I really hope life is strange 2 won't be laggy like this.

"Captain Spirit" is made in Unreal Engine 4. As is the upcoming "Life is Strange 2".
"Life is Strange" was in Unreal Engine 3 and "Before the Storm" used the UNITY Engine.
So, sorry to say but the system requirements for "Captain Spirit" and "Life is Strange 2" are a lot higher then the other games.

What you can try, look at the "render resolution" setting in the graphic options. Make sure its on 100% or below, that will give you better performance.
You can try to lower it further to make the game more playable.

You also did not say what your system specs are. What CPU, graphic card and RAM you have.

Are you sure your system requirements meet the recommended? This game is quite a bit more demanding than the others in the series being that it runs in Unreal Engine 4 as opposed to Unreal Engine 3. I run the game at around 65-80 at maximum settings and %130 res scale on my GTX 1070...

Seems strange, i could play the game no problem with maxed out settings in 1440p on my GTX 1080. 60 FPS all the time.

Captain Spirit runs pretty good on my PC and i have a pretty old GPU (GTX750 ti), 8 GB and an i5 4670k.

I am sure that i dont exactly have a good PC but i didnt experience any lags and maybe it means that i won't have trouble with Life is Strange 2 either. At least i hope so.

I think I have worse than that sat up and so far all of them have run fine. My guess is either you tweaked things too much in the settings or you may do do something silly like D frag the system
