The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

The game's telling me my VRAM not enough while it is?
So I launched the game, and this pops up:
"This system does not meet the minimum video memory requirements of the game. At least 2GB VRAM is required. Gameplay experience may be affected."

BUT my VRAM IS exactly 2G and have absolutely no problem running other LiS games at highest setting, even Witcher 3 is ok. But this free game is telling me my computer sucks? I'm bewildered here.

So I clicked OK, the game started, I tweaked all graphic setting to very high, aaaand the FPS is about 20. ONLY 20!! Hoooow?

Here's my PC set
✓ CPU: Intel 4-Core i7 4790
✓ Graphics: NVidia GTX 750Ti 2GB
✓ RAM: 12GB DDR3
✓ OS: Windows 10 pro

Now I'm not a PRO about PC but my set seems ok running a free little game. I mean I can run most of my games smoothly.
Anyone have the same problem with me? Or is this game's graphic just THIS good that my PC can't handle "very high"?

Thanks in advance!

This makes me wonder just what does this "Render Resolution" do and how does it effect in game? Do we notice the difference easily?

"Render Resolution" is the % at which the game renders its graphic resolution.
So , at 100% the game renders the graphic at the exact resolution you have set the game to.
So if you play at 1080p (Full HD) the game renders everything at 1080p.
If you set it to 66% then then your resolution is still set to 1080p but the game renders everything just at 720p which of course takes far less ressources.

The downside is that the graphics can look more blurry and not as sharp.
If you go above 100% the game renders the graphics at higher resolutions like 1440p or even 4k and then downsamples them back to your desktop resolution.
That MAY look slightly better but costs a LOT of GPU power.

So if the game still looks good to you at 66% here is no problem playing like that.

I got this too. I have a 750Ti too but running LiS smoothly. If I change from borderless to fullscreen I get a black screen and have to restart the PC.

I think my problem is a little different then bc it just won't load :steamfacepalm:
I'm gonna see if I can fix it some other way.
Thanks again!
I'm sorry for that. I'm assuming that you've never upgraded you PC since you said you're "new to Steam" then maybe you're new to PC gaming, too.
Knowing the rank of your computer set is rather important in PC gaming. Unfortunately, to run this game, at least your GPU and Video card need to be presentable and THAT is somethin expensive.
Welcome to the world of PC gaming!

I have the following:

- CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.00 Ghz
- GPU: Asus GeForce Strix GTX 970 DirectCU II OC 4GB GDDR5
- RAM: 16 GB DDR4
- OS: Windows 10 Home

By default, the game was automatically set to very high quality. but after a few minutes playing I had to reduce the quality to high because the GPU temperature shot up to 66 °C, the cooler fans noise was disturbing and the CPU was working at 30% with Chris doing nothing :)

I don't know what these guys done but they eat all the graphic resources :)
I have the exact same gpu and I feel a bit offended (not in a serious way haha!) when the messages pops up lol. I know the gpu is old but it still capable to run new games just fine at decent settings.

Played the game with all highest settings except render resolution only at 100% and it all ran well although at some places the frames do drops below 30.

I wonder why mine can't handle the highest setting while yours can if we have the same GPU card. Does your set have better RAM or CPU or...? NOW I'm offended. (jk lol)

I have a GTX 750 1GB. The game runs fine, I just noted a bit of clunky transitions between camera angles in cutscenes; but after I reduced Render Resolution to 83% it started to run way better. I also changed Shadow quality to Medium.

I don't get why I got that message about the 2GB VRAM. I can run LiS and BtS smoothly with the greatest quality, and this game is not Wolfenstein The New Colossus! what is going on?

I'm having a similar pop up about ram, but also before it even gets to the loading screen the whole game screen shrinks down to about 4 inches wide. Any ideas?

My pc is weaker than yours tho

CPU : FX 6300
RAM : 8GB
Windows 10

Forgot to mention that I'm running at 1080p, idk looks like it just bugs from the game? or could be the Windows 10 because that thing sucks (from my experience). Windows ALWAYS forced me to upgrade even though the upgrades is filled with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of bugs like I have now that always restart the computer EVERYTIME I turn the pc on. Bit off topic and ranting here sorry lol.

Because the game is a different engine then both LiS and BtS.
LiS was in Unreal Engine 3 and BtS uses Unity, both very ressource friendly engines that dont need powerful hardware.
Unreal Engine 4 on the other hand which is used by Captain Spirit and the upcoming LiS 2 needs quiet a bit more power even if the graphic style of the games seems to be similar.

I see, thanks!

The point was that you created your own problem... the game chose settings that it thought was best for your system... you said "I know better, let's set everything to very high" It is quite possible that you wouldn't notice the difference setting other settings lower... but you don't want to experiment or learn.

Quite frankly, it's rather absurd how I love messing with unreal's INI's and tweaking things, while you're acting like, what is it, 8 settings? is too much for you to mess with. These are a very simplified config files, compared to Life is strange 1 (where I disabled Depth of Field because I don't think it looks remotely good; despite there being no menu option for it.)

People may start as a beginner... but refusing to experiment or figure things out on your own is the norm for people who are n00bs4life
*Facepalm*
What makes you assume that I don't know how to tweak initial files? just because I asked why the requirement's is so high? you're like "oh, why you have to complain about the ridiculous price of a restaurant, why don't you just have McDonald's, it makes you live too."
I'm a humble modder too, just crack the .pak file trying to translate Captain Spirit into Chinese. so stop being an arrogant 8 yr old, find some useful things to do
geez... I'm done arguing with you now.

from what i saw from other games textures quality uses vram. the higher the texture quality the higher usage of Vram. different games have different usage mount of of VRAM and ram. so u should lower ur texture quality and also resolution . also new games tend to have compatibility issues.
