Immortal Ending

Spoilers for the ending of the game

I'm at the end after finding everything for the lost and found and finding the leaky pipes and medical records. Dylan uploaded the new version of outlaw with his confession and letters to the deceased. However, whenever I kill him, nothing happens and he respawns.
-I've restarted Hypnos, didn't work.
-I've turned off and relaunched the game from steam, didn't work.
-I read the letters (6 of them) and relaunched outlaw to get him after reading them, didn't work.
-I've killed him from behind and died, didn't work.
-I've killed him from behind without dying, didn't work.
-I've gone ahead of him and turned around to ram and 1 hit K.O. him, didn't work.
At first it would say he spawned after the other 6 ascended. After multiple tries of getting this to work it devolved into not saying he spawned, but the outlaw icon would display his car while he was alive (while he was dead/respawning it was a ? icon). Then that devolved into the game no longer saying he had spawned and his icon always being a ?, but he spawn nonetheless and no matter how many times I get him in no matter how many different ways he always comes back. Haven't seen the credits of the game and had a pretty pivotal emotional moment in the game kind of ruined, I'll probably just watch credits online while waiting for any answers.

Woah. Are you playing the latest version, straight from Steam, or did you get the game elsewhere? Can you send me your save file? If playing on Windows it's here:
C:\Users\[username]\Tendershoot\HypnOS
I'll just need the .sav files from in there, don't worry about the .backup or the GlobalSettings files.

hey, this is kinda late but if you still haven’t figured it out:

I was having the same problem, but then i found a video and it turns out you have to trail dylan’s car with the lasso out for an extended amount of time rather than ramming into it. watch out cause it also drains your energy and it damages you if you touch the car.

for some reason i didnt get a notification that there was a reply until now, oops. anyway, thanks for the help! had no idea a lasso even existed, especially since i looked for a video of the ending online and just saw people ramming it like i was.

Instructions are on the Outlaw webpage and there's an explanation of the buttons on the Outlaw title screen, which mentions the lasso 😁
