should I close cases?

Not sure how spoilery this is going to get, so I'd rather just have general statements I guess... but how do you know if/when you should close a case? They mention that you get a bigger bonus for finding more violations than the minimum for cases... so should I just keep them open forever until I'm positive there's no more occurrences? Can I re-open a case somehow if I find something later? I'm still very early game, but, for example, who knows, maybe I'll find some picture of Gumshoe Gooper later on down the line...

You are taking it too seriously. Close them or don't. Don't worry about trying to maximize your hypnocoins. It's not real money anyway. There are plenty of ways to get HC if you need it.
