Screen sharing on Discord has no audio?
Has anyone tried to screenshare this on a discord call? I'm having trouble getting audio to go through. I can hear the music just fine on my end, and streaming from other games/programs sends audio just fine, it's just this game that won't work.

Since it uses multiple "nwjs.exe" processes, and several of them show up in Windows' audio mixer but only one has audio activity, I figure it has something to do with that.

update: I've ruled out Discord as the culprit of this, and found similar issues in other games using nwjs like Pokemon Showdown. It seems like the video and audio come from different subprocesses (nwjs.exe), and while Discord correctly hooks to the one that's serving video, it can't get the program-specific audio.

Passing Hypnospace the "--single-process" flag through steam's command line arguments forces it to run as a single, properly named, "HypnOS.exe" process that Discord can hook into. With this enabled, audio works, but video doesn't.

Adding "--disable-gpu" on top of that makes it fall back to software rendering, which seemingly solves the issue (the game runs, and it can be seen and heard through Discord screensharing) but introduces issues with rendering text that make the game unplayable.

Still, it feels close enough that *something* should enable it to run fine *and* be recognized by Discord and other streaming software.

I have this same issue ): Me and my friend settled on him not hearing anything but strangely at some points he heard a robot voice that I couldn't...

You were nearly there, Latin. Launch the game with --single-process, change the game to windowed mode within HypnOS' display settings, choose the game application as the focus of the stream in Discord, and then change the game back to fullscreen in HypnOS. Now everyone should be able to see and hear the game.

When I do this it launches the game as one process that can be picked up by discord, but it comes up as just a black screen with the audio playing. If i do the --disable-gpu Latin mentioned I get the same result as them which is rendering issues. Is there anything I can do to get it to launch as a single process without the black screen?

The key for me was having Discord hook to it in windowed mode, which makes the screen black or flicker for the people watching it, and only after I've done that, switching it back to fullscreen makes it display properly. If that doesn't work for you, I don't know. For reference I'm on Windows 7.

Hey there! This is due to the game's engine, unfortunately - it's built in Construct 2 which has problems with being picked up in software like OBS and Discord.

At the moment there's nothing we can do to solve it, but we're keeping an eye on the Construct folks so that if it DOES get fixed, we can let everyone know =]
