Am i missing the point of oil?

[Canadian Normandy]

I got the upgraded bucket (which im not even sure what it does compared to the normal bucket) and i collect oil with it by dropping the full bucket into the collector, picking the bucket back up, and repeating. It seems to not really be a great payout compared to how quickly i make money with the saw and punching away with the glove.

Am i missing something?

It's definitely less effective than the chaos gauntlet and good artifacts. However, it's faster than pickaxe for example. You can pour the oil from the bucket instead of dropping the whole thing.
